Yes, I really do. As a publicly traded company, they would have to. I think he'd be fired, gone for a year and brought back. Whether that happens or not, we will see in due time.
Who in TNA/IMPACT wrestling is a homegrown star, outside of AJ Styles? Most of the main eventers there, other than Bobby Roode (who I think is developing nicely, but not at that level yet) are throwbacks from other federations. Samoa Joe, at least to me, is a ROH product.
I think you can make a case for Roode, James Storm and Christopher Daniels as homegrown main eventers. Samoa Joe was indeed a ROH product but when he's in TNA for this length of time, he's a TNA homegrown name at this point as he was an unknown nationally when he debuted for them.
How often do you think a wrestler comes up with an idea for themselves only to have creative shoo them away and use it for another wrestler?
I can't say with any certainty how often such a thing happens, but it certainly does.
I know that TNA's Impact Wrestling features a segment entitled Gut Check where a wrestler has a match and is eventually evaluated where it is later determined if they have the guts to make it in the business. What do you think of a Gut Check for female wrestlers? A young female wrestler wrestles the likes of Knockout champion Gail Kim and, win or lose, faces three Knockout judges such as Tara, Mickie James and Angelina Love. She goes through the same evaluation the male wrestler experiences. What do you think?
I think we'll see it before too long and like the concept.
Now that TNA has announced news of a Hall of Fame who would you suggest be the first inductee?
In my opinion, it has to be Jeff Jarrett or the Carter family. They were greatly involved in launching TNA and helping it survive. A case could be made for Bob Ryder, who literally pitched TNA's original concept to the Jarretts during a fishing trip. Without Ryder, there would be no TNA today.
