BY THE NUMBERS: LOOKING BACK AT THE WEEK IN WRESTLING FROM WWE, TNA, AND ROH (PLUS A LOOK AT THE TOTALS FOR MAY)

By Richard Trionfo on 2012-06-05 01:12:05
We might have celebrated a holiday, but there is no holiday for the weekly look at the television products from WWE, TNA, and ROH. When you look at the five shows that aired two weeks ago with new matches, we had one more minute of wrestling from those five shows. With the addition of Ring of Honor this week, we had twenty more minutes of wrestling than the week before.

Smackdown won the week with thirty minutes of wrestling while NXT had another strong week and finished in second place with another twenty-six minute performance. Impact took the bronze with twenty-five minutes while Raw and Superstars had twenty-four minutes of wrestling. Ring of Honor brought up the rear with nineteen minutes.

With seven ten minute matches this week, we had the highest total in that category since week ninety-two when we had eight ten minutes matches. The only show this week not to have a ten minute match was Ring of Honor, which came close with a nine minute match in the main event. NXT and Smackdown had two ten minute matches this week.

We had another week with three one minute matches and they came from Raw and Smackdown again. Smackdown and Impact each have a plus one differential between ten and one minute matches.

A few milestones were achieved this week. Ring of Honor passed two thousand minutes while Impact passed the three thousand minute barrier. The other four shows may pass milestones next week.

At the end of this column, I take a look at May’s totals. Here are the overall totals for 2012 through the end of May:
