Quick Results and Notes from last night’s ROH show in Richmond, VA:
Charlie Haas pinned Jay Briscoe in a wild Unsanctioned, Lights Out, Anything Goes match
Davey Richards (with Kyle O’Reiley) beat Jimmy Jacobs (with Kevin Steen)
Eddie Edwards defeated Mike Bennett (with Maria)
Chris Silvio & Paredyse beat Team A1
Jay & Mark Briscoe defeated Roderick Strong and Michael Elgin (with Truth Martini)
Tomasso Ciampa (with Prince Nana & The Embassy) pinned Adam Cole
Kenny King & Rhett Titus beat Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin by DQ in an ROH Tag Title Match
The Bravado Brothers beat Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin by DQ
Jay Lethal pinned Mike Mondo
This was the biggest crowd that ROH has drawn in Richmond.
LOTS of families and kids in attendance – that can be attributed to the weekly TV show.
This was the first ROH show I have seen where Cary Silkin did not appear in front of the crowd.
The show kicked-off with an angle explaining that Kevin Steen had suffered a concussion the night before at Baltimore TV and could not work – that set-up the Richards/Jacobs match later in the show.
The Bravados came out and declared that they want the tag titles which led to WGTT giving them an impromptu match and a subsequent ass kicking. That led right into the Tag Title Match with the ANX.
They continued the angle with Ciampa and The Embassy where he is getting tired of being told what to do. He walked out on them after refusing to beat-down Cole after their match.
They also continued the apparent rift that is developing between Elgin and the House of Truth.
The tag match featuring local talent from Richmond tore the house down and got quite an ovation. It was a bit sloppy at times but the crowd was into it.
Maria took a bump off of the apron to the floor and it ended up costing Bennett his match with Edwards.
Kevin Steen did get involved in the Richards/Jacobs match - taking out O'Reiley numerous times and taunting Richards. It wasn't enough to keep Richards from going over though.
Haas and Briscoe literally destroyed everything in sight in a brutal, entertaining brawl that ended up including Mark and Shelton Benjamin.
Haas pinned Jay with a low-blow and a roll-up.
Jay challenged Haas to a Texas Death Match in ROH’s debut in Charleston, WV on June 15th.
No return date to Richmond was announced.
