WWE TAPING SMACKDOWN TONIGHT, JONATHAN COACHMAN HEADING HOME FOR GOOD CAUSE, JERICHO, DANIEL BRYAN AND MORE WWE NEWS

WWE will tape Smackdown tonight in Hershey, PA, headlined by WWE World champion Sheamus vs. Randy Orton. If you are attending the taping, we are seeking spoiler reports.

WWE's deal with Full Sail University was picked up by several different media outlets, stemming from the press release they issued yesterday. Thursday's first taping is probably the most important day in WWE developmental FCW's history.

WWE is releasing a new Chris Jericho shirt next week. It's the first in almost five years as during his last run, Jericho was adamant that the company not market him with shirts as he wanted no sign of fan support for the character.

WWE will be releasing low priced DVDs on Sheamus and Daniel Bryan later this summer.

ESPN Anchor Jonathan Coachman to Speak in Hutchinson

ESPN anchor and former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman is coming to Hutchinson to help support a scholarship fund for Kansas journalism students.

Coachman will be speaking at 7:30 p.m. May 31 at the Encampment Building at the Kansas state fairgrounds, 2000 N. Poplar St. in Hutchinson. Proceeds will go to The Hutchinson News’ Future Journalist Scholarship Program, which annually awards a $1,000 scholarship to a high-school senior planning to study journalism in college.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at The Hutchinson News, 300 W. Second Avenue, at $5 for adults and $1 for children. Tickets bought online at www.hutchnews.com/coach are $7 for adults and $2 for children. A VIP meet-and-greet with Coachman will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for $25, including appetizers and beverages.

Coachman joined ESPN in August 2008 as a sports anchor on the ESPNEWS network. He also served as a host on College Football Live and ESPN Friday Night Fights.

Previously, he served as a sports anchor at the MSG network in New York (2007-2008), KMBC-TV in Kansas City, Mo. (1999-2000), and KAKE-TV in Wichita (1997-1999). He spent eight years working in Stamford, Conn., as a TV announcer for the WWE Company.

Coachman earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from McPherson College and was awarded the basketball conference’s highest honor when he was named KCAC Player of the Year.
