Welcome to PWInsider.com's live coverage of Pro Wrestling Syndicate's return to Rahway, NJ, titled "Refuse to Lose"
The Reality Check, Kevin Matthews, Jay Lethal, Amazing Red and Devon Moore came to the ring. Lethal, who turned heel here last month, ripped on the fans for chanting "TNA sucks" at him and then going home and watching it. He said they have a plan for tonight and that's to take out The Young Bucks. Lethal asked why would you waste a plane ticket on the Bucks. Lethal said Red was the greatest wrestler he's ever seen, had something to get off his chest. Red teased speaking, then raised his middle fingers. Lethal said he was going to put PWS champion Sami Callihan on notice.
QT Marshal vs. Mike Dennis
Marshall did some mic work to establish himself as a heel early. Dennis shoulderblocked him down but was caught with an elbow when he tried to drop down for a leapfrog. Dennis used the ropes to springboard himself into a rolling headlock takedown.
Marhsal came back with a leg lariat for a two count. He locked on a rear chin lock. Dennis fought his way out but was slammed down for a two count. Marshall worked him over with a series of rapid fire right hands while Dennis was down on the mat.
Marhsall missed a splash in the corner, setting up a Dennis comeback. He ducked a punch and nailed a series of hard clotheslines. He backdropped Marshall over and nailed a running dropkick in the corner. He went to the top rope but Marshall crotched him. Marshall attempted a superplex but was shoved off. Dennis came off with a frog splash for the pin.
Your winner, Mike Dennis!
OK opener. Nothing was bad but it was a little long in the tooth.
The ring announcer introduced Bret Hart, who is here at guest Commissioner for the night. Hart took the mic and received a standing ovation as the crowd chanted his name. Hart thanked everyone and said he's had a great time in Rahway. He said it was great to be back in New Jersey, where he had some of his greatest matches. He said it's a pleasure to be here and with some of the wrestlers in the back like Demolition, who Hart Foundation have battled for years and Marty Jannetty, who fought the Harts when he was part of the Rockers. He said that he appreciates the support and he appreciates the fans and thanked them for having him.
Tag Team Gauntlet: Enhancement Talent vs. Demolition
This is a Gauntlet with the winners named as the top contenders to the PWS Tag Team titles. Big chant for Barry Darsow and Bill Eadie. Smash worked over one member of Enhancement and whipped him into the ropes for an elbow. Demolition double teamed him with shots to the back. The other enhancement hit the ring and ended up getting beat down as well. The Demos did a version of the Hart Attack and covered one of the Talents for the pin.
Enhancement Talent have been eliminated.
Mark Modest & Mark Matrix hit the ring and were quickly take down by the Demos. The referee tried to stop them from beating someone in the corner and they shoved the referee.
Demolition was disqualified.
The Demos nailed the referee and got a big pop for it.
The next team out was The Phat Pack, who came to the ring with Ox Baker. One of the Pack was DJ Phat Pat from NYWC. He used a rocket launder to send Matrix off the top to his spartner, who caught him and nailed a Samoan Drop, then a splash for the pin.
Matrix and Modest have been eliminated. Another team came out but I didn't catch their names and they were eliminated as well.
A team named Grave Encounters hit the ring and were wiped out in rapid succession as well. They were nailed with double Banzai Drops for the win.
Your winners, The Phat Pack!
Once Demolition was eliminated, it was a lot of young guys trying with various degrees of success. The crowd loved seeing the Demos.
