CM PUNK'S QUEST TO BRING BACK WWE ICE CREAM BARS (AND MIKE'S DECISION TO FOLLOW UP THE STORY), WRESTLERS FIRED BECAUSE CREATIVE HAS NOTHING FOR THEM, WHAT THE HELL DOES CM STAND FOR AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2011-07-15 09:29:53

Vince asked a great question, what does the CM in CM Punk stand for?>

Punk always changes the answer when he is asked by media, but the earliest version of the answer I've heard is "Chick Magnet."

With all the buzz about Punk leaving the WWE, (which I believe everyone is getting worked), but if indeed it is true, you think Punk’s getting buried on the way out as to de-value his worth to TNA?

No, because he'll never go to TNA.

Great site – I just renewed my subscription. How is it the fault of the wrestler when “Creative” has nothing for them and, therefore, they are released? Maybe I’m nuts but are the writers paid to be “creative”? If anything, they should lose their job because they aren’t delivering what they are paid for!

I am in agreement with you here. Wrestling is the only TV genre where the performer is penalized because the writers crafting their work can't find something for them. Anywhere else would see a departure in the writing room.

Hey, I had a question that you've probably been asked a million times, what were the problems CM Punk had in TNA that caused him to not want to go back?

Punk didn't want to pull himself out of ROH when TNA demanded it, they suspended him for getting into a fight with Teddy Hart, etc,

This question is directed toward the guy who proclaimed" CM Punk speaks for the entire world". Really now? Sorry I hate to burst your bubble but I believe the entire world has better things to be concerned about than bringing back ice cream bars from years past. Daily now it seems like your posting these links to sign a petition to bring these back. Is this really what your industry insights have become? Tell me where is the petition to reinstate your integrity? I'll sign that one.

I would be that guy. I hate to burst your bubble but when a topic trends for hours on Twitter and we received hundreds of emails on the subject overnight, that tends to show that there's a pretty sizeable interest in the subject. To me, the entire reaction of the crowd to Punk's statement and subsequent frenzy online was pretty damn entertaining and fun to follow - SOMETHING PRO WRESTLING IS SUPPOSED TO BE. I am sorry if you think my integrity is warped because I followed up on a story that was fun and different, and if you think my industry insights have fallen because of it, I'd ask you to lighten up. We post anywhere from 30-40 stories a day as well as 2-5 hours of audio a day. Like any other news organization, some of that will be serious, some will be silly and not everyone will like everything, but to call out someone because you don't like the story is a tad bit wacky in my mind - everything is subjective and I can tell you that you are in the VAST minority on this one.
