MTV.com featured a piece on Billy Corgan's angle with AAA stars at the MTV World Stage concert in Mexico over the weekend at this link. In the interview I conducted with Corgan over the weekend, he noted that he wasn't sure how MTV would present the angle once the show was edited but hoped to make the footage available so fans could see it.
In regard to AAA broadcasting in high definition, while Galavision is now available in HD on some markets, the AAA TV show is not shot or presented in HD.
Darren Aronofsky told MTV News that he considers his new film "Black Swan" to be something of a "companion piece" to his Mickey Rourke film "The Wrestler." Aronofsky commented, "They are really connected and people will see the connections. It's funny, because wrestling some consider the lowest art — if they would even call it art — and ballet some people consider the highest art. But what was amazing to me was how similar the performers in both of these worlds are. They both make incredible use of their bodies to express themselves." Aronofsky said at one point, he had a film idea about a love affair between a wrestler and a ballerina, which eventually split off into the two films. You can read their interview by clicking here.
