STRAIGHT EDGE SOCIETY, TRIPLE H, WWE AND THE WRESTLING MEDIA AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2010-07-10 10:00:00

One more time. What was the reason exactly for TNA releasing Roxxi after only having her for just a short time?

From what I was told, some in power in TNA didn't care for her look and decided to use her to get over the idea of Madison Rayne "ending careers" since she had just retired Tara.  I agree, it seems bizarre to bring someone in, elevate them to a PPV title match in one set of tapings, and then on the day of the PPV have her lose and exit the company.  With all due respect to Roxxi, I don't think the brief feud really did a lot to elevate Rayne in the eyes of the fans.

Now that Straight Edge Society leader CM Punk is out of action does this mean both Luke Gallows and Serena will be going at it alone? Does this unfortunate incident open the door for Serena in taking part in matches herself quite possibly against the likes of Kelly Kelly and Tiffany?

No, because even with his injury, Punk is still appearing on television, and they have worked his injury into the storyline.  At some point, I could see Serena competing, especially with the Divas division as thin as it is, but it doesn't appear to be in WWE's immediate plans.

What happened at the Toronto Wrestlemania that made WWE not talk to the wrestling media anymore?

It wasn't that something happened at Wrestlemania itself, it is that WWE made the decision at that point to no longer include the "wrestling media" on their conference calls, interview lists and other media events.  It certainly came across that with the "wrestling war" with WCW over, WWE no longer felt the need to interact with the wrestling media, and cut off access to their talent.

With Triple H currently being on the sidelines, are there any plans to bring him back in a “savior” role in the Nexus angle ala Sting/NWO?

I would think it is more likely that he will return looking for revenge on Sheamus, but obviously plans can change, or the two storylines could be combined in some way.  If it escalates into the "faction war" scenario we've seen in the past, then it would make sense for Triple H to be a major player at some point.

Have just watched some CZW on youtube and seriously, it is nothing but rubbish! I know some consider ECW was rubbish, but they also had the likes of Eddie, Malenko, 2 Cold Scorpio and the Luchadors. And even the likes of Raven and Tommy Dreamer knew how to wrestle. But CZW are just all about guys who can take pain. It's like they haven't even had training. They give wrestling a bad name I believe. Your thoughts?

CZW certainly isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, and obviously, it isn't yours.  I've seen some CZW matches that I've enjoyed greatly, and other bouts that were, as you wrote "just all about guys who can take pain" that I wouldn't even call wrestling matches, as the spots were horribly put together and executed.  They have their following, which has grown and shrunk at different points, and there will always be that niche for Death Match wrestling they can fill.
