HOGAN VS. FLAIR, TRIPLE H TURNING HEEL AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2009-11-19 10:00:00

Do you think the travel involved for top stars today is better or worse than in the past?

I think it depends on what aspect you are looking at.  Now, most WWE stars work four-five days a week, depending on the house show schedule, so, at worst, they get at least one whole day at home a week usually.  Back in the 80's, WWE had stretches of weeks without a single day off.  Now, you have more airports and highways than in the past, where more travel was done on roadways.  Now, you have cell phones and the Internet, where back in the 80's, it was pay phones.  Technology, if nothing else, has made the travel easier on the performers today.

I've heard a few times that Triple H would like to be a heel again, but because of his popularity, WWE won't go with the turn.  My question is, why does he want to be a heel?

Because he enjoys it.  It is really that simple.  Working as a heel is different than a babyface, and Triple H enjoys playing that role.  I do think he'll get a chance again at some point, but right now, it is all about selling merchandise, and a babyface Triple H sells a lot.

If Brock Lesnar is so in love with MMA, why didn't he go into UFC right out of college?

I think the simple, and obvious, answer is money.  When Brock made his decision to go into pro wrestling, it was the more lucrative option.  Back then, payoffs at UFC events were nowhere near what they are now, and if you didn't win, you didn't make much at all.  It was a struggling business at that point.  Now, of course, a top UFC star can make a lot of money for just a few fights (of course, those lower on the card still don't make a lot).

Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair.  What are the chances that match happens on a TNA PPV in 2010?

Well, Hogan is already signed with the company, so if Flair ends up following him, I would say pretty good!  However, if Flair goes to TNA, that would probably blow up the bridge between Flair and WWE for quite some time (if not forever).

Who do you think WWE will get to headline this year's Hall Of Fame event?

My top choice would be the Road Warriors, with Ultimate Warrior as the dark horse candidate, given the way WWE has seemed to "warm up" to him suddenly.  Ted DiBiase has become the "Ricky Steamboat" of the Hall Of Fame now, the guy who you expect will go in, it is just a matter of when WWE does it.
