Like in WCW Russo and Ferrara are pushing the young guys in TNA lately (Eric Young, Hernandez, Amazing Red, Matt Morgan, just to name a few). I have no problem with young guys getting push if they are ready. My question is do you think they are ready? Except for AJ, Joe and Daniels I don't think they are ready. At the end of WCW the guys straight out of the Power Plant were green and not ready, history repeating it self?
There is a huge difference in this situation. Hernandez, Young, Red and Morgan all have years of experience at this point. None of them are "rookies" by any definition. The Power Plant guys were mostly wrestlers who literally came straight out of wrestling camp into the ring. You are entitled to your opinion, but I think Morgan, Hernandez, Red and Young, while maybe not main event stars yet, are certainly worthy of a push.
Is Booker T done with TNA? And if so, do you think he'll head back over to WWE?
Booker T is done with TNA. There are no plans for him to return to WWE, but I absolutely could see it happening down the road.
And is the Main Event Mafia done? I can see so many directions they can go with those guys w/o being in that mafia madness.
It does appear the MEM is on it's last legs. Booker T is gone, Kevin Nash is suspended, Kurt Angle is now a babyface, and only Scott Steiner even mentions the group in interviews these days. I think it has run it's course.
If I was aware that WWE would be appearing in my hometown when would it be a good time to be at the arena to hopefully see the wrestlers arriving for a chance to get their autograph? Perhaps say hello. Take their picture. Things like that. Is there a right way or a wrong way in doing this?
For a TV taping, the wrestlers usually arrive around noon, while for a house show, it is usually a few hours before the event begins. Usually, fans will be hanging around parking areas and entrances hoping to meet a wrestler. However, you may end up walking away empty handed. Honestly, the best way to meet a wrestler is to go to an organized personal appearance, where the wrestlers plan to sign autographs and take pictures.
Do you think it would be a good idea to reinforce the concept of the bigger paycheck going to the winners of matches? Just throw it into some promos or commentary to remind the average viewer why winning a match is important and why allies put in matches would want to fight each other. It would also help sell how personal a feud is when a wrestler throws a match ( DQ, countout) to inflict damage to a hated rival. I remember the “pay window†being mentioned often in old school promos. Wouldn't that be a pretty easy way to help smooth out some logic wrinkles?
Absolutely. I think ideas like "winners make more money" and "champions earn more money" are simple and effective storyline devices.
