DYNAMITE KID, ECW, SMACKDOWN AND MORE

What is the Dynamite Kid up to nowadays? Is still involved in wrestling at all?

Dynamite Kid is wheelchair bound, the result of injuries suffered during his career and his drug use, and has no involvement with wrestling at all.  He resides in England. 

How come WWE does not give a crap about ECW?

I wouldn't say they don't give a crap about ECW, but is isn't high on the priority list either.  ECW is a halfway point between developmental and a spot on the Raw or Smackdown roster, with a handful of veterans (Christian, Regal, Dreamer, Goldust) to help the younger talent get ready for a shot on "prime time" in WWE's world.  It is what it is, and won't be more than that.

Isn't in WWE best interest to increase the ratings for ECW so when it comes time to negotiate a new deal for ECW they are in a good bargaining position and able to ask for a TV rights fees increase due to the increased ratings? 

Apparently SyFy is pretty happy with the ratings for the most part, but I agree it wouldn't hurt WWE to throw a few more commercial for ECW into the mix now and then, and see if they can bump up the rating a bit more. 

If My Network TV goes belly up do you see Smackdown going to SYFY? 

Well, it sort of already has, with it no being seen as just a bunch of syndicated stations (which is why Smackdown ratings are delayed now).  So, Smackdown now exists in syndication.  I think WWE likes the idea of having a non-cable show, so I see them keeping Smackdown in syndication, unless a network comes calling.

Why doesn't WWE have established stars like Undertaker put over talent who needs to be elevated clean in the middle of the ring? 

I agree that you need top stars to put over younger talent, you also need to book the younger talent to where a pinfall win will actually help them.  A good example is Kofi Kingston.  He is now being booked in a way that the fans are seeing him as more of a top talent, and a pinfall win over a top star will help legitimize him.  By comparison, Great Khali's clean pin of Undertaker a few years back did nothing.
