King asked Hogan whether he would be wrestling for the company after they aired footage of today's press conference from New York City. Hogan responded that he didn't know what he would be doing for the company yet and that he would be testing himself on the upcoming Hulkamania tour of Australia.
As I discussed earlier today in my PWInsider.com Elite Hotline update, it is believed Hogan would likely be a regular on TNA Impact but would only wrestle sparingly for the company. I suppose the idea of Hogan as an authority figure wouldn't be out of the question, either.
Hogan also threw out the idea of doing an American Idol-type of reality series to find the "next" Hulk Hogan, a reality show concept Jimmy Hart had discussed wanting to see when I interviewed him last year in the PWInsider.com Elite section.
The Hogan appearance, while mostly focused on his book, can't be seen as anything but a positive for TNA. On the surface, Hogan's signing has already gotten the company mentions in a number of entertainment trade publications, the AP and now Larry King Live.
Now, whether the signing can translate into helping the company grow (and there are some in the company who aren't sold on that idea to be sure), we'll have to follow in the weeks and months to come, but right now, it's gotten a lot of attention out of the gate.
