Last night, F1RST Wrestling held the second night of the Sweet Sixteen tournament, featuring stars of F1RST and Chikara. The card also featured non-tournament action as well. Quick results are as follows:
Semi-Final Match: "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon defeated Ryan Cruz by pinfall
Semi-Final Match: "The Professional" Benjamin Sailer defeated "Playboy" Pete Huge by pinfall
Semi-Final Match: Lince Dorado defeated "6% Body Fat" Rob James by pinfall
Non-Tournament Match: Yellow Dog defeated Rob Justice by pinfall
Semi-Final Match: Claudio Castagnoli defeated "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush by pinfall
Non-Tournament Match: The Osirian Portal defeated "The Popular" Nate Bash and Darin Corbin by pinfall (Amasis pinned Bash)
Non-Tournament Match: Horace the Psychopath defeated Stigma by submission
Tournament Final: Lince Dorado defeated Claudio Castagnoli, "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon, and "The Professional" Benjamin Sailer in a Four-Way Elimination match (Cannon pinned Sailer, Castagnoli pinned Cannon, Dorado pinned Castagnoli)
My only complaint about tonight's show is that the Yellow Dog match should not have come right in the middle of the semi-final round like it did. All four semi-final matchups were great, and the show lost a lot of momentum with a non-tournament comedy match wedged right in the middle. Overall, though, a fantastic tournament with some great wrestling. I hope the inclusion of Chikara stars in the tournament will help bring some exposure to F1RST Wrestling!
