LOTS OF RING OF HONOR NEWS COMING OUT OF GLORY BY HONOR: JIM CORNETTE, CHRIS HERO, EDDIE EDWARDS AND LOTS MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-09-28 11:30:48
The rumors of Chris Hero signing with World Wrestling Entertainment, which sprouted up Saturday are completely without merit.  There's been some interest in Hero on WWE's side as several people in the company suggested him when they began looking at ROH wrestlers to sign, but there have been no offers or even conversations between the two sides at this time.

Jim Cornette will be working all the ROH on HDNet TV Tapings in his role as "Executive Producer" and will be working with Adam Pearce on the creative aspect of things, but Pearce remains the booker.  I suspect Cornette will begin working in the HDNet Production truck with similar responsibilities as he had working for TNA, helping the wrestling side bridge to the production side in order to make a better TV product.   ROH and Cornette came to terms about a week before his debut.

TNA star and former ROH champion Homicide was in New York City on Saturday for the Glory by Honor show to see Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness' farewell.  He actually came out in front of the crowd before the show in the Manhattan Center to rile everyone up and got a big pop from his hometown fans.

Julius Smokes was also at the show and came out at the end for the farewell ceremony.  I wish ROH would find a role for him already.

Despite the advance sellout, ROH still turned 200 fans away at the door on Saturday night.

Eddie Edwards' broken elbow was suffered on Friday during a spot where he was tossed down a set of stairs in his Anything Goes match against Kevin Steen.  The NYC crowd treated Edwards like a babyface on Saturday in the Ladder War match since they knew he was working with such a bad injury.

The early word is the Glory by Honor show will likely end up a double DVD set.

As we previously reported, the 2009 Final Battle show will be 12/19 at the Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom.

For those of you who may have missed it yesterday, we have free audio of Jim Cornette's return speech and the farewell ceremony for Danielson and McGuinness.  I wanted to thank ROH owner Cary Silkin for granting us permission to post the audio.  You can listen to them below.

I'll have an audio discussing the NYC event in the Elite section later today as well.
