SMACKDOWN REPORT: CM PUNK CONTINUES TO ATTACK JEFF HARDY BUT MATT THROWS HIS BANDANA INTO THE BATTLE; A CHAMPION RETURNS NEXT WEEK; A NEW BROTHER COMBINATION REVEALED; THIS BRAND MAKES ME CARE ABOUT THEIR SUMMERSLAM MATCHES

By Richard Trionfo on 2009-08-15 12:51:44
We are live on tape from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and your announcers are Jim ‘Remember that guy we don’t admit existing’ Ross and Todd ‘Looking forward to Summerfest’ Grisham.

We take a look back at last week’s main event that saw Vince McMahon add a wrinkle into the equation, a guest enforcer who turned out to be Matt Hardy. We also see the announcement that Jeff Hardy and CM Punk will meet again at Summerslam in a TLC Match.

CM Punk comes to the ring and he has something to say. He talks about how Teddy Long said that a TLC match is a Hardy specialty. Punk says that Teddy will be proven again. Punk says that he has shown that he is pretty good when it comes to ladder matches. Punk talks about chairs and he reminds us what he did to Jeff with a chair last week. Punk says that he has won two Money in the Bank matches. He says that he could waste his time telling everyone the difference between right and wrong and talk about integrity. Punk says that he knows the fans are slaves to Jeff Hardy’s ‘live in the moment’ attitude. He says that what he does and says will make the fans cheer more for Jeff Hardy. Punk says that he realized what he had to do to get people to listen to him. Punk says that all he has to do is end Jeff Hardy. He says that he wants to do it the same way that he lives his life, the right way in a one-on-one match. No outside enforcers with family ties who might be conflicted over what has to be done. Just a title belt hanging above the ring in a TLC Match. It is typical of Jeff to screw things up the same way that he usually does because Jeff is not going to make it to Summerslam. The injuries are so severe . . .

They are so severe that Teddy Long is walking with his arm swinging from side to side as he comes to the ring to interrupt Punk’s promo. Teddy tells Punk that what he did last week was deplorable and he asks Punk if he realized that he could have ended Jeff’s career after the attack. Teddy tells Punk that before he makes alternative plans for Summerslam, Jeff Hardy will be here tonight. Teddy reminds us that Jeff is in no condition to compete tonight, but he will be ready for Summerslam. Teddy reminds Punk that he is going to face the man he has not defeated on Smackdown, John Morrison.

Punk says that he is sick of the Jeff Hardy suck up. Punk says that he is going to beat John Morrison tonight and then he is going to beat Teddy’s poster boy.

Speaking of poster boys, Jeff Hardy’s music plays and he comes to the ring. Jeff walks gingerly to the ring. Jeff says that he is hurt, but he is here and he is in Punk’s face. Nothing will stop him from defending his title at Summerslam.

He is told by Vince to have Jeff wrestle tonight but Teddy says that Jeff is not ready to wrestle.
