1936 - Chick Dude defeats Albion Britt for the World Junior Heavyweight Title in Hollywood, California.

1950 - Eddie Gossett (Eddie Graham) and Roy Welch defeat The Masked Bat (Danny Dusek) and Finis Hall in Chattanooga, Tennessee to win their second NWA (Mid-America) Southern Tag Team Title.

1961 - Del Wilkes, better known as The Patriot in the WWF and WCW, is born in Columbia, South Carolina.

1962 - Whipper Billy Watson defeats Mike Sharpe in Calgary, Alberta for the NWA (Vancouver) British Empire Heavyweight Title, beginning his third reign.

1965 - Stan Mykietowich and Al Tomko defeat Frenchy Champagne and George Eakin in a tournament final for the Madison Wrestling Club Tag Team Title in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

1968 - Bob Kelly defeats Rocket Monroe to win the NWA Mississippi Heavyweight Title in Laurel, Mississippi, beginning his second reign.

1970 - Big Bad John and Pepe Lopez defeat Oni Wiki Wiki and Young Atlas for the NWA (Mid-America) United States Tag Team Title in Memphis, Tennessee.

1973 - Ron Fuller defeats Bill Watts for the NWA Georgia Heavyweight Title in Atlanta, Georgia, ending Watts' second reign. At the same event, Gorgeous George, Jr. and Bobby Shane defeats Bob Armstrong and Robert Fuller for the NWA Georgia Tag Team Title.

1973 - Rey Mendoza defeats Kim Sung Ho in Los Angeles, California to win the NWA World Light Heavyweight Title for the sixth time.

1973 - Raul Mata and Victor Rivera defeat Dr. Death and Mr. Wrestling to win the NWA Americas Tag Team Title.

1975 - The WWWF ran a matinee show at the Boston Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The results:
- Joe Crugnale pinned Pete Doherty.
- Joe Nova pinned Ruben Ayala.
- Dean Ho pinned Bill White.
- Tony Garea pinned Joe Nova.
- WWWF World Heavyweight Champion Bruno Sammartino defeated Lou Albano in a steel cage match.
- Pedro Morales fought Killer Kowalski to a 20-minute draw.
- Bobby Duncum, Jimmy Valiant and Johnny Valiant fought Gorilla Monsoon, Chief Jay Strongbow and Larry Zbyszko to a draw in a two-out-of-three falls match. Monsoon made Johnny Valiant submit to a bearhug in the first fall, Jimmy Valiant pinned Monsoon after Johnny hit Monsoon with a top rope double axehandle while Jimmy was in a bearhug, and the third fall was a double disqualification after the referee lost control of the combatants.

1975 - Bearcat Brown and Tommy Gilbert defeat The Interns (Tom Andrews and Jim Starr) to win the NWA (Mid-America) Southern Tag Team Title, ending the Interns' fourth reign.

1976 - Eric The Red defeats Jose Rivera in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to win the WWC Puerto Rican Heavyweight Title. 

1977 - Gama Singh and Igor Volkoff defeat The Black Avenger and Mike Sharpe for the NWA (Vancouver) Canadian Tag Team Title in Vancouver, British Columbia.

1979 - The Dynamite Kid and Sekigawa defeat Leo Burke and Hubert Gallant in a tournament final for the vacant Stampede International Tag Team Title in Calgary, Alberta.

1979 - Dusty Rhodes defeats Mark Lewin in Houston, Texas for the NWA Texas Brass Knuckles Title, beginning his second reign.

1980 - Chabela Romero defeats Vickie Williams in Mexico City, Mexico to win the Universal Wrestling Association Women's World Title, ending Williams' third reign.

1985 - Jerry Lawler wins his 36th of 43 AWA Southern Heavyweight Titles, ending the eighth reign of Bill Dundee in Memphis, Tennessee.

1985 - Kerry Brown defeats Davey Boy Smith for the Stampede North American Heavyweight Title in Edmonton, Alberta.

1989 - Mal Sanders defeats Steve Grey in Bristol, England to win the vacant British Welterweight Title. The title had been vacant since July 4 when champion Danny Collins won the British Heavy Middleweight Title.

1992 - Jeff Jarrett defeats Brian Christopher for the USWA Southern Heavyweight Title in Memphis, Tennessee. This began Jarrett's fourth reign and ended Christopher's fifth.

1995 - Hisakatsu Oya & Horace Boulder defeat Yoshiaki Fujiwara & Daisuke Ikeda to win the FMW World Brass Knuckles Tag Team Title. 

1996 - Rambo defeats Ludvig Borga to win the Catch Wrestling Association Heavyweight Title in Bremen, Germany, beginning his third reign.

1996 - El Bronco defeats Jake Roberts in Caguas, Puerto Rico to win the World Wrestling Association Puerto Rico Heavyweight Title. Roberts and Bronco would be the first two to hold the title, only one more champion (Savio Vega) would be crowned before the promotion closed the following June.

1996 - The War Machine defeats Beau James for the Southern States Wrestling Appalachian Heavyweight Title in Beckley, West Virginia.

1997 - Villano III defeats Ricky Santana to win the WWC Puerto Rico Heavyweight Title in San Germain, Puerto Rico, ending Santana's fourth reign and beginning Villano III's second.

1998 - The Monday Night Wars continued, with Raw beating out Nitro, 4.7 to 4.0 in the ratings.

Steve Blackman defeated Blue Blazer via disqualification. ... Jesse James defeated Big Boss Man to win the WWF Hardcore Title. ... Mankind defeated Shane McMahon via disqualification. ... The Headbangers defeated D'Lo Brown & Mark Henry. ... Rocky Maivia & Test defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley & X-Pac via disqualification.

1999 - The Doc defeats OGB in Hagerstown, Maryland for the House of Pain Wrestling Federation Cruiserweight Title.

2000 - Danny B. Good defeats The Fabulous Rocker for the NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Title in Dyersburg, Tennessee. At the same event, Naughty by Nature (Rude and Tully) defeat Ricky Murdock and Dustin Starr to win the NWA Mid-South Tag Team Title, beginning their sixth reign.

2001 - Mr. Gannosuke and Tetsuhiro Kuroda defeat Kintaro Kanemura and Mammoth Sasaki in Tokyo, Japan to win the vacant WEW Tag Team Title.

2001 - Bob Evans wins the New England Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Title for the second time, defeating Maverick Wild in Somerville, Massachusetts.

2002 - XPW ran at the former ECW Arena, Viking Hall, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. XPW would hold only six more shows in 2003 before the promotion closed. The results of the show were:
- Chris Hamrick defeated Shark Boy.
- Danny Doring defeated XPW Television Champion Kaos by disqualification.
- In a four-way contender's match, Jerry Lynn and Jonny Storm defeated Joey Matthews and Zebra Kid when Lynn and Storm both pinned Matthews.
- Supreme defeated Altar Boy Luke in a House of Horrors match to win the XPW King of the Deathmatch Title, beginning his fourth reign. Supreme would be the last champion.
- Tracy Smothers defeated Angel.
- Youthanazia (M-Dogg20 and Josh Prohibition) defeated Mexico's Most Wanted (Damian 666 and Halloween) to win the XPW World Tag Team Title.
- Psicosis defeated Chris Chetti.
- Pogo the Clown defeated The Sandman.
- Shane Douglas defeated Vic Grimes to retain the XPW World Heavyweight Title.

2002 - John Saxon defeats Sirus Levay for the NWA Southern Television Title in Magee, Mississippi.

2005 - Abdullah Kobayashi defeatrs Ryuji Ito to win the BJW Deathmatch Heavyweight Title in Kanagawa, Japan.
