THIS DAY IN HISTORY: WCW SUES RIC FLAIR, DUDLEYS WIN NUMBER SIX, EDGE & CHRISTIAN'S FINAL TAG TITLE REIGN AND MORE

On this day in history in ....

1984 - Adrian Adonis & Dick Murdoch defeat Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson for the WWF World Tag Team Title in Hamburg, Pennsylvania.

1994 - WCW held their Spring Stampede Pay-per-view at the Horizon in Rosemont, Illinois. Here are the results:
- In a match that was not televised on Pay-per-view, Danny Bonaduce (TV's Danny Partridge) defeated Christopher Knight (TV's Peter Brady) in a charity boxing match.
- In a match that was not televised on Pay-per-view, Pat Tanaka & Haito defeated Kevin & Dave Sullivan.
- Johnny B. Badd defeated Diamond Dallas Page.
- WCW World Telvision Champion Steve Regal vs. Brian Pillman ended in a 15-minute draw.
- WCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys defeated Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne in a Chicago Street Fight.
- WCW United States Champion Steve Austin defeated The Great Muta via disqualification.
- Sting defeated Rick Rude to win the WCW International World Title.
- Bunkhouse Buck defeated Dustin Rhodes in a Bunkhouse match.
- Vader defeated The Boss (Big Bossman).
- WCW World Champion Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat ended in a no-contest after over thirty minutes of action when both men had their shoulders on the mat for a three count after Steamboat fell back as he held Flair in a double chickenwing. Flair retained the title, and the two later had a rematch on WCW Saturday Night, which Flair won.

1995 - Brian Lee defeats Brian Christopher for the USWA Southern Heavyweight Title in Memphis, Tennessee. This title had been vacated several days earlier after a match between the two had ended in a no-contest and Lee was stripped of the belt.

1998 - WCW filed suit in Fulton County Superior Court against Ric Flair for breach of contract. Flair had requested a day off to go watch his son Reid compete in an wrestling tournament. WCW initially agree to the request, but later refused and wanted Flair to attend the Thunder taping that week.  Flair went anyway. WCW suspended him and filed the lawsuit. Flair would eventually return to WCW, but the bad blood between Flair and Eric Bischoff, who was the WCW President at the time, remains to this day.

1999 - The Dudleys defeat Sabu & Rob Van Dam for the ECW World Tag Team Title when D-Von Dudley beat Rob Van Dam in a singles match with the belts on the line (Sabu was suspended in a storyline). This would begin the sixth ECW Tag Title reign for Bubba Ray & D-Von.

2000 - Scotty Too Hotty defeat Dean Malenko for the WWF Light Heavyweight Title in State College, Pennsylvania.

2001 - Kane & The Undertaker defeat Edge & Christian for the WWF Tag Team Title in Nashville, Tennessee. This ended Edge & Christian's seventh, and final, WWF tag title reign.

2001 - Rhyno defeats Kane for the WWF Hardcore Title in Nashville, Tennessee.
