AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision is live from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC. 

Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli vs Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) 

Bryan and Darius start off the match. They lock up and go to side headlock takeovers fro0m each and then right back to their feet. They then move from arm bars to running the ropes and Darius gets an arm drag takedown. Darius then gets a shoulder tackle followed by a back slide for two. Dante tags in and grabs an arm bar. Dante kicks Bryan in the back and covers for two. Bryan is able to get to hsi corner for Claudio to tag in.

They run the ropes and Dante gets a tejaris and then gets a suplex. Darius tags in to cover for two. Claudio takes over and works over Darius in the corner. He drops Darius on the top rope and Bryan is tagged in for the guillotine leg drop. Bryan gets a surfboard stretch. Claudio tags in and drops onto Darius for two. They throw hands at each other and Claudio runs Darius into the turnbuckle and then into the ring post as we go to picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, Bryan and Darius trade chops and kicks and Bryan gets a series of kicks in the corner, but Darius is able to get a kick from the corner after he is whipped across the ring. Claudio and Dante tag in and Dante lays in a series of forearms. Dante gets a big cross body for two. Dante leaps onto Bryan on the floor and then kicks Claudio off the ropes. Dante goes to the top for a frog splash for two.

Dante goes to tag in Darius, and Bryan pulls him off the apron. Claudio is able to grab Dante for the Big Swing, and follows with a sharpshooter. Darius gets into the ring and hits Claudio with a flatliner. Daruis fights off Claudio and Bryan with chops, and Darius gets a DDT on Bryan and Dante knocks Bryan out of the ring. Darius dives onto Bryan and Dante hits a moonsault onto Claudio for two. 

As everyone recovers, Bryan hits the psycho knee on Darius. Dante takes a big kick from Bryan and Claudio hits a running uppercut for the pin and the win.

Winners: Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli

Bryan grabs a mic and he puts over Top Flight as being what AEW is all about. He gets the crowd to chant AEW and says that the first Anarchy in the Arena nearly ended his career, but he will be in the upcoming one because he loves AEW. He says the Elite no longer represent AEW, and while Tony Khan is at every show, The Elite aren’t at the show tonight. He says he loves AEW, what it represents and what it gives to the fans. He will do anything to protect it.

We get a video recapping the Mogul Embassy attacking Swerve Strickland on Dynamite. 

Will Ospreay vs Lee Moriarty

Roderick Strong joins commentary with Undisputed Kingdom with him. 

Lee and Will start with mat work and go into the ropes where they break clean. Lee works an arm bar, holding Will down. Will is finally able to escape and gets a side headlock takeover. Will tries for a roundhouse kick and Lee dodges it. They lock up with a greco roman knuckle lock and get a series of moves while keeping the lock on each other. Lee is able to turn it into an arm bar and locks Will’s arm. Will is able t6o come off the ropes with a tejaris. Lee goes to the floor and Will leaps onto him over the top rope as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Lee gets a cravat takeover and then twists Will’s head with his legs. Will comes off the ropes with a front flip into a kick. Will lays in strikes and then hits a big back body drop. Will gets a pump kick in the corner and goes to the top. He gets a leaping bulldog for two. Will starts to set up for a Tiger Driver and instead gets a kick. Lee snaps Will’s fingers, and twisting slam for two. 

They trade shots and Lee puts Will on top. Will escapes and hits a spinning slam for a torture rack for two. Shane Taylor gets on the apron when Will calls for the Oz cutter. Will hits him with a super kick. Lee is able to catch Will from the Oz cutter in the Border City Stretch, and Will rolls him over for two. Will hits a back elbow and gets for the Tiger Driver and then instead hits a Stormbreaker for the pin and the win.

Winner: Will Ospreay

As Will is yelling at Undisputed Kingdom, Shane Taylor attacks Will from behind. Undisputed Kindom get in the ring to stand over a fallen Ospreay. 

We get a video package of Mercedes Mone throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park. 

Brian Cage and Gates of Agony (Toa Leona and Bishop Kuan) vs The Already in the ring Evan Rivers and the Voros Twins

There are no tags as our hometown boys are obliterated. Gates of Agony toss Rivers into a power bomb from Cage and it’s over.

Winners:  Brain Cage and Gates of Agony

Tony Schiavone gets in the ring to ask why they attacked Swerve Strickland. Cage says Swerve and Nana took from them and never gave. He says they need the leadership of the Young Bucks. 

Swerve’s music hits and Cage charges up the ramps. Swerve comes in from the other side, takes out Gates of Agony with a chain and then nails Cage as well. He hits a House Call on Cage and gives him one more on the floor. He then hits Kuan with one from the arpon to the floor. He wraps the chain around Kuan’s neck and when he turns to walk away, Leona runs through him. 

Leona charges at Swerve, and Swerve nails him with a cinderblock to the midsection. Swerve then puts him on the steel steps and nails him in the head with a steel chair. 

Swerve stands on the apron with a chair held high as Cage is on the ramp calling for him to come at him. When we come back from break, Swerve says he can’t be a corporate champion and challenges Swerve Strickland.

Daniel Garcia vs the already in the ring KM

Matt Menard joins commentary.

KM is much bigger than Garcia and he beats down Garcia until Garcia starts to fight back out of the corner, and then stomps KM down in the opposite corner. He hits 9 in the corner and then dances into KM’s face. Garcia gets a suplex on the much bigger man and then grabs a dragon sleeper for the win.

Winner: Daniel Garcia

Dax Harwood w/Cash Wheeler vs Tommy Billington

Tommy, who is the nephew of the Dynamite Kid, has taken the name.

They lock up collar and elbow and go into the corner and they break clean.  They trade arm bars and Dax gets a side headlock takeover. They run the ropes and Dax hits a shoulder tackle for two. They lock up with a greco roman knuckle lock and they trade headbuts, and Dax makes it into a hammer lock and Billington reverses it. They go back and forth and when Billington gets free, he charges into Dax foru times and finally gets a shoulder tackle. Dax goes to the floor to regroup.

Dax returns to the ring and then runs the ropes with Dax getting a shoulder tackle and then a back elbow. Dax lays in brutal chops. Dax then gets a standing clothesline and a snap suplex followed by a leg drop for two. Billington gets a drop kick and then a cross body. They both spill to the floor and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Billiingotn leaps front he top onto Dax on the floor. They return to the ring and Billington gets a shotgun drop kick from the top, followed by a clothesline and a snap suplex. He goes to the top and hits a flying elbow for two. Dax recovers and puts Billington and they fight on the top with Billington headbutting Dax to the mat. Dax recovered and met him on the top and hit a super plex. Dox goes to the top and Billington gets away. 

Dax grabs him and hits a pair of Germans, and Billington gets a standing switch and gets two of his own. Dax escapes with a back elbow. Billington tries for a rollup but Dax rolls through and gets a dragon suplex. Both men need to recover. Dax tries for a pile driver, but Billington blocks him and gets a small package for two. Billington gets a rollup for two. Dax blocks a hurricanrana and turns it into a slingshot slam for the pin and the win.

Winner: Dax Harwood

We are told that Jeff Cobb will be showing on Wednesday at the behest of Don Callis. 

We are then shown footage after Dynamite where the Elite respond to the attack at the end of the show. Okada says he challenges Dax to a match at Dynamite. Jack Perry then cuts a promo about how he was miserable last year, but this year he has never felt so alive and he can’t wait to take people out at Anarchy in the Arena. 

The Bucks then see Christopher Daniels and get in his face and Daniels yells back at them. He says if they ever talk to him like that again, he will beat their ass.

We then get a promo from Daniels, and he says they have forgotten where they came from. He says he was there when it all started, and he won’t let them make it about themselves instead of being about the company. He says that now he has to get a partner and meet them in the ring because they are ordering it. He will pick Matt Sydal and he will face them and someone will get punished. 

Backstage Dax accepts the match with Okada and puts over how Anarchy in the Arena is the most dangerous match he’s ever been in. 

Thunder Rosa vs Robyn Renegade

They lock up and Rose gets a takedown but they stay locked up. Robyn forces them into the corner and Rosa forces them across the ring into the opposite corner. Rosa is forced to the top and then kicks Robyn. She follows with arm whips and a drop kick. She lays in chops oN robyn in the corner and Robyn fires back. Rosa whips Robyn onto the apron and kicks her to the floor. Rosa follows her. Robyn gets a kick on Rosa and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Robyn gets a double stamp for two. Rosa reverses with a pair of clotheslines and a lung blower. Rosa then gets the running basement drop kick on Robyn on the bottom rope for two. Rosa gets a series of shoulder thrusts. Robyn is able to get a pump handle slam and Rosa rolls to the ropes. She kicks Robyn away. Robyn goes to the top and misses a moonsault. Rosa locks on the Cobra Clutch and Robyn taps out.

Winner: Thunder Rosa

Lexi is with Johnny TV and Taya Valkyrie and he challenges Pac while mocking the local sports team.

We then get a promo from Hook, and he says Jericho pissed him off, but none of it was surprising to him. When Jericho told him that he knew what Hook can be, Hook says Jericho has no idea who Hook can be.

It’s time for the main event

Adam Copeland (TNT Champion) vs Kyle O’Reilly

They shake hands. They lock up collar and elbow and then break. They lock up again and move to waistlocks. Adam turns it into a wrist lock and they go into the ropes. They break clean. They lock up again and Adam gets a side headlock. Kyle turns it into a wrist lock and then turns it into an arm bar. He switches to a side headlock and Adam shoots him into the corner. Kyle is able to go up and over and grabs a side headlock takeover. Adam shoots him off and tries for an arm drag, but Kyle dodges it and gets a side headlock takeover.

They get to their fewer, and Kyle grabs another side headlock. He gets a takeover when Adam tries for a backdrop and he reverses it. He takes Adam down with an arm bar. Adam is able to whip Kyle into the corner and both men are down. Adam is up first and gets a gutbuster. Adam whips Kyle into the corner again. He drops the knee and lays in blows to Kyle’s back. 

Adam gets a series of shoulders to the midsection. Kyle goes for a headlock and Adam picks Kyle up and drops him across the top rope as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Adam is on top and Kyle is throwing hands at him. He joins Adam on top and Adam head butts him down to the mat. Adam tries for a leaping elbow drop and Kyle grabs the arm. Adam rolls through and starts pounding on Kyle’s back followed by a crossfader. Kyle gets to the ropes with a foot for the break. Adam throws forearms and hits a lungblower. Kyle is up and comes off the ropes with a clothesline and both men are down.

Kyle catches a kick and lays in knee shots. He sweeps Adam’s legs and gets a running forearm in the corner and then works over Adam’s arm and hits a belly to back. Kyle gets a leg lock and Adam is finally able to grab the rope and the crowd boos. Kyle trips Adam and kicks the legs out from Adam when Adam gets up. They go to the apron and Kyle grabs the arm and drops to the floor. 

Kyle goes to the top and drops a knee in Adam’s back for two. Kyle grabs an arm bar and pulls back ON Adam’s arm. Adam is able to get to his feet and gets a sitout slam. They throw forearms. Kyle takes over with a flurry of strikes and kicks. Kyle gets a rollup for two. Adam grabs a rear naked choke and Kyle rolls through for an arm bar. Adam is able to roll up and get two. Adam lays in stomps on Kyle for two. Adam hits another gutbuster and they are both down.

They slowly get to their feet in the corner and go to the top. Kyle drops from the top onto Adam’s arm. Adam hits a kick to the gut and Kyle goes down with the ref checking on him. The ref says to go. Adam sets for the spear and nails it, but Kyle turns it into a guillotine choke. Adam gets to his feet and hits a DDT on Kyle to escape. Adam hits another spear for the pin and the win.
