New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that the 10/9 King of Pro Wrestling 2017 event will be headlined by IWGP champion Kazuchika Okada defending against EVIL and Tetsuya Naito vs. Tomohiro Ishii with the winner receiving a shot at the IWGP champion at the 1/4/18 Tokyo Dome event.
The promotion also announced the following dates and matches for the 2017 Destruction tour:
9/10 Destruction in Fukushima:
*IWGP Tag Team champions Guerrilas of Destiny vs. War Machine vs. Killer Elite Squad
*NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team champions EVIL & SANADA & BUSHI vs. Kazuchika Okada, Toru Yano & Rocky Romero
*NEVER Openweight champion Minoru Suzuki vs. Michael Elgin
9/16 Destruction in Hiroshima:
*IWGP Intercontinental champion Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
