GARY MICHAEL CAPPETTA RECOVERING FROM HEART ATTACK, WILL MOVE FORWARD WITH ONE MAN SHOW TOUR

By Mike Johnson on 2017-08-14 09:18:00

Gary Michael Cappetta, known to wrestling fans as "The World's Most Dangerous Ring Announcer", suffered a heart attack a week and a half ago, but is recovering following surgery and will still be moving forward with planned dates for his one man show Beyond Bodyslams!

"In wrestling, I am known as the Energizer Bunny," Cappetta told PWInsider.com this past Saturday at the Legends & Icons convention in Philadelphia, "but the battery ran out.  I had a heart attack a week and a half ago and got out of the hospital a week ago."

Cappetta told PWInsider.com that he had an operation to place a stent in his heart and due to his condition, they were not able to even provide anesthesia.

"I had tickets to a concert the night they operated on me," joked Cappetta.  "The operation was at 6 and I had tickets to Earth, Wind & Fire at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ at 8 PM.  I tried to tell the doctor we could be done in time to go see the show."

Cappetta didn't make the concert, but is already back on his feet and working with doctors to insure his recovery.  He still appeared at the convention over the weekend as he had made the commitment and will be keeping all of his current tour dates for his One Man Show Beyond Bodyslams!, where he presents the stories of his interactions with some of the biggest names in wrestling history over the course of his journey as a ring announcer for a number of companies, including the WWF, WCW, the AWA and more.

Current dates of the tour feature:

10/13 in Atlanta, GA
10/14 in Tampa, FL
10/15 in Orlando, FL
10/28 in Asbury Park, NJ
11/4 in Louisville, KY
11/11 in NYC at Queens Theater in the Park.
