Daniel Hinkles' Five Star Wrestling, which announced a 128 Man tournament that would run over several months in Great Britain, has informed talent that their 6/10 event in Liverpool at the Echo Arena has been canceled, leading to speculation that the entire tournament is off.
The tournament had been announced this past January after the promotion held a live broadcast on Spike UK. Five Star has not been seen on the network, which has since begun airing Impact Wrestling, since.
The promotion had released a grandstand offer to CM Punk recently, claiming it would pay him $1 million to compete in the tournament. Punk, who is under contract to UFC, did not publicly respond to the offer and contractually, couldn't have taken it.
The promotion currently has dates listed for 6/17 in Blackburn, 6/24 in Belfast, 7/8 in Dundee, 7/15 in Aberdeen, 7/29 in Cardiff and 8/12 in Newcastle. Whether those dates actually take place remains to be seen.
The promotion has not officially announced the cancellation publicly as of this writing, but a number of talents that had been booked for 6/10 are now publicly scrambling to find a new booking. Advertised for 6/10 were Rob Van Dam, Moose, John Morrison, Carlito, Bram, El Ligero, Joe Coffey, and Zack Gibson. Coffey commented on the cancellation via Twitter, writing:
Ive lost out on more money in 6 months of 2017 than i have my whole 8 years wrestling.

....and its supposed to be a revival.
