STYLE BATTLE SEASON 1 EPISODE 4 REPORT: HALF THE FIELD FOR THE FINALE IS SET

Welcome to PWInsider.com’s coverage of WWN Style Battle Season 1 Episode 4.  Who will join Dave Crist, Tracer X, and Jon Davis in the Grand Finale at the end of Season One. 

We are at the Ivy Astoria Event Center in the shadow of the Orpheum in Ybor City, Florida.

Trevin Adams and Mister Saint Laurent are in the ring at the start of the show. 

Trevin mentions the WWN Family and how it is more than the individual companies, the fans, and the talent on the shows.  It is the crew.  Trevin mentions the passing of Wayne Van Dyke, also known as Richard Delicious.  Trevin mentions the GoFundMe page for Wayne set up by his family. 

They do a ten bell salute for Wayne.

Match Number One:  Block A SemiFinal Match: Jason Cade versus Socorro

Cade tries for a bicycle kick but Socorro blocks it.  Cade with an arm drag but Socorro with an arm drag and he blocks a drop kick.  Cade with a rana and drop kick.  Socorro with a flying kick and a forearm.  Socorro with a forearm and hard Irish whip for a near fall.  Cade with a punch and forearm but Socorro drops Cade on the top rope and drop kicks Cade off the ropes to the mat.  Socorro sends Cade into the apron and chops him.  Socorro gets a near fall.  Socorro with a chin lock but Cade with forearms and a jawbreaker.  Socorro misses a splash and Cade with a kick and jumping knee followed by a Northern Lights suplex and a double stomp for a near fall. 

Cade gets Socorro on his shoulders but Socorro gets back to his feet.  Cade with a super kick and a suplex with a bridge for a near fall.  Cade misses a double stomp from the turnbuckles and Socorro with a Lobo Driver for a near fall.  Socorro tries for a pump handle move but Cade escapes and hits a series of kicks and both men are down.  The referee starts his count but they get to their knees and exchange punches and forearms.  Socorro with forearms but Cade with a bicycle kick and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  Cade with a drop kick into the corner and then Cade rolls through and hits a suplex.  Cade gets a near fall.  Cade goes up top  but Socorro with a jumping belly-to-belly superplex followed by a suplex for a near fall.  Socorro puts Cade on the turnbuckles and he chops Cade.  Socorro goes up top.  Cade blocks Socorro and tries for a sunset flip power bomb but Cade gets to the mat and he super kicks Socorro and hits a Frog Splash for the three count.

Winner:  Jason Cade (advances to face winner of Odinson versus Fred Yehi in the Block A Finals)

Jason is asked about his performance after making it to the finals at Episode 3.  Cade says this show started off like episode 3.  Tonight, he will prove why he will go down as the greatest Style Battle competitor of all time.

Match Number Two:  Block A SemiFinal Match:  Odinson versus Fred Yehi

Yehi with chops but Odinson chops back.  Odinson blocks an Irish whip attempt and Yehi avoids Odinson and hits a drop kick.  Yehi with a drop kick to the knees and he stomps on the foot.  Odinson with a chop.  Odinson mises a running European uppercut and Yehi with forearms and chops in the corner.  Yehi with a running forearm into the corner and a running clothesline into the corner.  Odinson with a European uppercut that sends Yehi to the mat.  Yehi stomps on Odinson's foot and he punches the foot before a leg sweep and drop kick to Odinson for a near fall.  Yehi goes to the turnbuckles but Odinson catches Yehi on his shoulders.  Yehi escapes but Odinson catches Yehi on a cross body attempt.  Odinson with an Irsih whip and Yehi goes to the apron and Odinson stops Yehi and hits an overhead belly-to-belly superplex.

Odinson gets a near fall.  Odinson with a deadlift side salto and he waits for Yehi to get back to his feet.  Odinson picks up Yehi for a suplex but Yehi gets back to his feet.  Odinson gets him up again but Yehi blocks it.  Odinson with a drop kick and a suplex for a near fall.  Odinson waits for Yehi to get back ot his feet and Yehi with an elbow and chop.  Odinson sends Yehi into the corner and he connects with a shoulder and a snap mare.  Odinson goes to the turnbuckles and he hits a European uppercut to the back for a near fall.  Odinson with a chin lock as he works the neck.  

Odinson picks up Yehi but Yehi with elbows.  Yehi gets to his feet and he goes for an O'Connor Roll but Odinson holds on to the ropes.  Yehi with forearms and a running drop kick and a German suplex.  Yehi with another German suplex.  Yehi sets for another German suplex but Odinson with elbows and he goes for a German suplex but Yehi with elbows.  Odinson with a German suplex that flips Yehi to his chest and he gets a near fall.  

Odinson gets Yehi on his shoulders but Yehi counters into a standing Koji Clutch and he gets Odinson to the mat and Odinson has to tap out.

Winner:  Fred Yehi (Advances to face Jason Cade in Block A Finals)

After the match, Yehi is interviewed and asked about his victory despite not being scheduled for the Style Battle.  Fred says Odinson is a big bad man and Fred says he is a big bad man and that is why Odinson tapped out.  Fred reminds us that he is the FIP World Champion.  It has been a year that he has been FIP World Champion.  He wants to be Mr. WWN.  It is only destiny as to why he needs to win Style Battle tonight.

Match Number Three:  Block B SemiFinal Match:  Sean Maluta versus Jason Kincaid

They lock up but Maluta with a knee and side head lock.  Maluta with a shoulder tackle.  Kincaid with a waist lock and Maluta with a standing switch.  Kincaid with a wrist lock.  Maluta with a reversal.  Kincaid with an arm drag and he gets a near fall.  Kincaid with a sunset flip but Maluta rolls through and tries for a kick but Kincaid avoids it.  Maluta goes to the floor.  Kincaid sets for a dive to the floor but he bounces off the ropes to return to the ring.  Kincaid stomps on the hand on the apron and then he hits a springboard back elbow to knock Maluta off the apron.

Kincaid goes up top but Maluta with a forearm as he comes off the apron.  Maluta kicks and face washes Kincaid in the corner.  Kincaid assumes the meditative position and it confuses Maluta.  Kincaid sends Maluta into the turnbuckles.  Kincaid with a running boot to the head and he gets a near fall.  Kincaid with a chop in the corner.  Maluta blocks a boot in the corner and he chops Kincaid.  Maluta with an Irish whip and a clothesline into the corner.  Maluta with a twisting suplex into the turnbuckles.  Maluta gets a near fall.  Maluta with a slam and he goes to the turnbuckles and hits a diving head butt for a near fall.  

Kincaid with a chop and Maluta with a slap.  Kincaid slaps Maluta but Maluta with a head butt.  Maluta with kicks to the head.  Kincaid with a clothesline and he gets a near fall.  Maluta with a jawbreaker but Kincaid with a power slam and double stomp.  Kincaid with a springboard senton for a near fall.  Kincaid gets Maluta up on his shoulders but Maluta with an elbow to the head.  Kincaid with a clothesline and he goes to the apron.  Kincaid with a slingshot swinging neck breaker followed by a handspring knee drop for a near fall.  

Maluta with a knee to the midsection followed by a gourdbuster and a Shining Wizard but Kincaid gets to the ropes.  Maluta goes up top and hits a frog splash but Kincaid kicks out.  Maluta goes for a suicide dive but Kincaid with a cutter in the ropes.  Kincaid goes up top for a double stomp and he gets the three count.

Winner:  Jason Kincaid (advances to face winner of Ethan Case versus James Drake)

After the match, Jason Kincaid is interviewed about his victory.  He says he is not the prettiest wrestler in the world.  He is not in the best shape.  He does not the coolest gear, but he is the most creative professional wrestler ever.  This is a long hard journey.  He says let's take the next step on the journey.

Match Number Four:  Block B SemiFinal Match:  James Drake versus Ethan Case

They lock up and Drake backs Case into the corner and they have a clean break.  They lock up again and Drake with arn arm drag.  They lock up again and Drake backs Case into the turnbuckles.  Case with a punch and he feels the impact.  Drake misses a punch and Case with punches and forearms.  Case avoids a chop in the corner and he gets a near fall with a rollup.  Case with an arm drag to counter a hip toss and he gets a near fall.  Case with a forearm.  Case with a sunset flip for a near fall.  Case with a knee and chop.  Drake mises a chop and Case with a springboard cross body for a near fall.  Case with a chop in the corner but Drake with a chop and he gets a near fall.  Drake with a rear chin lock.  

Drake with a chop and a short arm clothesline for a near fall.  Case with a back heel kick and he tries for a cutter but Drake pushes him away and hits a back senton .  Drake with a shooting star press for a near fall.  Case punches Drake but Drake with a knee to the head.  Drake with a head butt for a near fall.  Drake gets a near fall.  Drake with an Irish whip but Case with an elbow.  Case kicks Drake away and hits a head scissors.  Drake goes to the floor.  

Case with a baseball slide but Drake moves.  Drake puts Case on the apron and hits a forearm.  Drake returns to the ring and the referee starts his count.  Case gets back into the ring at nine to avoid a count out loss.  Drake with a flying boot for a near fall.  Drake gets another near fall.  Drake complains about the count.  Drake slams Case and kicks him in the back.  Drake with another slam and another kick to the back.  Case with a forearm and he tries for an O'Connor Roll but Drake holds on to the ropes.  Case with a pop up forearm for a near fall.  

Case with a cutter but he runs into an elbow.  Case with a clothesline in the corner followed by a cross arm slam for a near fall.  Drake with shoulders and Case tries for the tornado suplex but Drake blocks it.  Drake with a suplex into the turnbuckles and then he goes up top for a moonsault and hits it but he can only get a two count.  Drake with a running chop into the corner and an Irish whip and another running chop.  Case hits a springboard stunner followed by a kick and he tries for a suplex but Drake blocks it and hits a sit out tombstone for the three count.

Winner:  James Drake  (Advances to face Jason Kincaid in the Block B Finals)

After the match, Drake is asked about his victory.  James mentions his match against Jon Davis at Episode 3.  He says this might have been the toughest match he had all year because Ethan Case is a very good wrestler.  There is nothing that will stop him from winning tonight.

Match Number Five:  Block A Finals: Jason Cade versus Fred Yehi

Cade attacks Yehi with a boot and gets a near fall during the introductions.  Cade gets another near fall.  Cade comes off the turnbuckles and misses when Yehi moves.  Yehi with a stomp to the leg and a German suplex.  Cade misses a kick to Yehi on the floor but Cade with a kick from teh apron.  Yehi blocks a kick and sends Cade face first into the apron.  Yehi with a power bomb for a near fall.  

Yehi with a running forearm into the corner.  Yehi sends Cade into the turnbuckles and Cade moves.  Cade with a super kick followed by a double stomp and a suplex into the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Cade gets Yehi on his shoulders but Yehi gets to his feet.  Cade with an elbow and he hits a handspring Codebreaker.  Yehi with an exploder and then he sends Cade to the apron.  Yehi goes for a deadlift German suplex but Cade counters with a victory roll.  Cade with a super kick and bicycle kick but Yehi with a clothesline and both men are down.  

Cade with a shoulder from the apron and he tries for a destroyer but Yehi counters into a back body drop.  Cade goes up top and he lands on Yehi's knees on a frog splash.  Yehi gets a near fall.  Yehi with a full nelson but Cade with an elbow and he tries for a springboard move but Yehi counters into a Flatline and the Koji Clutch.  Cade taps out.

Winner:  Fred Yehi (advances to finals to face Jason Kincaid or James Drake)

After the match, Fred is interviewed he is asked what is left for the finals.  Fred says he has not thought about what is left.  Two men entered the Trouble Zone and they fell victim to the Koji Clutch.  Fred says he will win because whoever advances to the finals, will be in BIG TROUBLE.

Match Number Six:  Block B Finals: James Drake versus Jason Kincaid

Drake with a flying boot for a near fall as the bell rings.  Drake gets another near fall.  Kincaid with forearms to Drake but Drake with a punch to the temple for a near fall.  Kincaid kicks Drake in the legs but Drake with a punch and chop in the corner.  Drake misses a charge into the corner and Kincaid with a tornado DDT.  Kincaid with a running European uppercut and then he hits a springboard drop kick for a near fall.  

Kincaid goes up top and he misses a double stomp.  Drake with a DDT and Drake goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault.  Drake misses and Kincaid with an Asai DDT followed by a Dragon Sleeper.  The referee calls for the bell.

Winner:  Jason Kincaid (Advances to face Fred Yehi in the Finals)

Kincaid is interviewed and is asked about knocking out James Drake.  Kincaid says he wore Drake down and was able to finish him off.  This is a special moment and he is in the finals.  Everything he ever had to put up with has led to this.  He is not going to let his family, his friends, or his fans down.  Whatever obstacles may come, he knows this journey is the right journey.

We have an intermission.

We are back and they discuss the rules for the Fray Match.

Match Number Seven:  Fray

Due to an issue with the wifi connection, most of the coverage for this match was lost.  The entrants were AR Fox, David Ali, Schaff, J Spade, Austin Theory, Buku Dao, Anthony Henry, Matt Lancie, and Danny Flamingo.

Henry eliminates Dao.  Lancie with a spear to Flamingo to eliminate him.  Fox with a kick to Lancie and a brainbuster to eliminate Lancie.

We are down to Henry and Fox and both men with bicycle kicks and both men are down.  Fox with a suicide dive onto Henry.  Henry sends Fox back into the ring and Fox with another suicide dive.  Fox kicks Henry as he rolls on the apron and then he hits a moonsault off the ring post.  Henry with a TKO onto the top rope.  Henry with an Air Raid Crash onto the apron.  Fox goes up top and hits a swanton but can only get a near fall. 

Fox goes up top again but lands on his feet when Henry moves on a 450 splash attempt.  Fox with a kick but Henry with a snap German suplex and then he hits another one.  Henry with a wrist clutch Regalplex for a near fall.  Henry sets for a Kudo Driver but Fox blocks it and gets a near fall with a rollup.  Fox with a matrix and enzuigiri.  Fox runs into a boot but Fox hits Lo Mein Pain followed by a 450 splash but Henry kicks out.  

Henry with a snap mare and a power bomb for a near fall.  Herny with a Dragon sleeper and Fox tries to get to the ropes.  Henry releases the hold and Fox kicks Henry in the head but Henry with a round kick.  Henry with a dragon sleeper and he pulls at the shoulder forcing Fox to tap out.

Winner:  Anthony Henry

After the match, Henry takes the mic.  He says he came to this Style Battle and this is the first one he was not a part of.  He came here with a mission and that mission was to prove without a shadow of a doubt that he deserves another opportunity.  Anthony says that if that does not prove that he deserves a spot, he does not know what he has to do.

Trevin Adams comes into the ring and he tells Anthony that he will get another chance and he will get his final opportunity on June 16th at Season 1 Episode 5.

Anthony says if he does not win, he will not be in any more Style Battles.

Trevin announces the financial support they will providing to the Wayne Van Dyke GoFundMe.

Before the match Fred Yehi is asked about his mental condition for the Finals.  Fred says Jason will enter the Trouble Zone and Fred will prove why he is Mr. WWN.

Jason is asked about his condition and he says that he is going to reach the end of his journey tonight.  He says he has been in trouble his whole life.  He is not in fear of Big Trouble.

Match Number Eight:  Finals:  Fred Yehi versus Jason Kincaid

Yehi and Kincaid try to go after the legs to get the early advantage but the other is able to escape.  They lock up and Yehi with a clean break.  They lock upa gain and Yehi with a wrist lock and chin lock.  Yehi with a side head lock take down for a near fall.  Yehi with a reverse chin lock.  They lock up and Kincaid with a wrist lock but Yehi with a reversal attempt but Kincaid brings Yehi to the mat. 

Kincaid kicks Yehi and he works on the elbow with a top wrist lock.  Kincaid with a wrist lock and Yehi escapes and takes Kincaid to the mat but Kincaid kicks Yehi away.  Yehi with a waist lock and Kincaid with a wrist lock and Yehi with a slam and he tries to stomp on Kincaid but Kincaid gets into the corner.  They go to a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and Yehi with a side head lock.  Kincaid tries to send Yehi off the ropes but Yehi holds on.  Kincaid gets a rollup for a few near falls. 

Kincaid tries to get out of the hold but Yehi holds on.  Yehi gets a few near falls on Kincaid.  Yehi with a shoulder tackle and he stomps on Kincaid but Kincaid with a leg sweep and a near fall.  Yehi works on the leg.  Kincaid tries for a chin lock.  Kincaid goes for a cross arm breaker but Yehi keeps Kincaid from locking the hold in.  Yehi with a rollup for a near fall but Kincaid holds on to the arm breaker.  Yehi tries for a rollup and then he tries to pick up Kincaid but gets a near fall.

Kincaid returns to the wrist lock and he works on the leg.  Kincaid with a chin lock on Yehi.  Kincaid and Yehi with a series of standing switches and Kincaid trips Yehi to send him to the mat.  Kincaid stomps on Yehi’s hand and he kicks Yehi in the chest.  Kincaid goes to the ropes and he hits a springboard arm drag.  Kincaid with a twisting drop kick for a near fall. 

Kincaid chops Yehi in the corner.  Kincaid kicks Yehi in the corner.  Kincaid with a running face wash and he goes to the floor after the impact.  Kincaid gets a near fall.  Kincaid stomps on Yehi’s hand and Yehi goes for the hand but Kincaid bites Yehi’s hand.  Kincaid with a butterfly suplex into a head scissors and Yehi tries to get to the ropes while Kincaid adds more pressure to the hold.  Yehi gets to the ropes and Kincaid releases the hold.

Kincaid kicks Yehi in the chest but Yehi blocks a kick and Yehi tries to stomp on the foot but Kincaid moves.  Kincaid misses a leg sweep and Yehi stomps on the foot and he hits a running drop kick after laughing maniacally. 

Yehi stomps on Kincaid and hits a German suplex followed by a second one.  Yehi with a third German suplex for a near fall.  Yehi chokes Kincaid in the ropes.  Yehi sends Kincaid into the turnbuckles.  Yehi with a chop.  Yehi sends Kincaid into the opposite corner and he chops Kincaid.  Yehi with a suplex for a near fall.  Kincaid with a jaw breaker.

Kincaid goes up top and Yehi crotches him on the turnbuckles.  Yehi with a superplex but he can only get a near fall.  Yehi with a cravate and knees to Kincaid.  Kincaid with an arm drag and boot to the head.  Kincaid with a handspring stunner but Yehi with a shoulder to the knee and he gets Kincaid on his shoulders.  Yehi with an exploder into the turnbuckles.  Yehi with a power bomb for a near fall.  Yehi signals that it is over and he wants Kincaid on his feet.  Kincaid cannot get up.  Yehi punches Kincaid.  Kincaid gets to his feet and Kincaid slaps Yehi.  Yehi slaps back.  They exchange forearms.  Kincaid with a kick but Yehi with punches and a back fist.  Kincaid with a knee.  Kincaid with an enzuigiri and he hits an Ushigoroshi.  Kincaid has Yehi in the guillotine but Yehi with a back drop to escape.  Kincaid with a double stomp and he sets for a Dragon Sleeper.

Fred gets back to his feet and he puts Kincaid on the turnbuckles.  Kincaid with a tornado DDT and he holds on and Fred with a suplex.  Both men are down and the referee starts his count.  Kincaid hits a cutter on the ropes and then Kincaid with a slingshot swinging neck breaker.  Kincaid with a double stomp for the three count.

Winner:  Jason Kincaid

After the match, both men show each other respect.

Jason is interviewed and he is asked about his victory.  Jason says he is speechless, but he is so damn grateful for the fans, the ring, WWN, and this experience.  He says he is excited to take this momentum and evolve.

Style Battle Season 1 Episode 5 takes place on June 16th.
