SMACKING RANDY ORTON, IMPACT PROBLEMS, GREAT BALLS OF WHAT THE HELL AND MORE

Am I the only one wishing Randy Orton gets smacked upside the head for his smug comments about indie wrestling? His commentary on the whole Rip Rogers brouhaha reeked of arrogance and disrespect towards the pro wrestling industry, and it was especially disingenuous considering that his entire career was being protected under the WWE fold with zero indie background (unless we count a year or so in OVW). It's like Justin Bieber ripping on fledgling, far more talented music acts for playing in crummy dive bars to build their cred, even though he was simply thrown into superstardom without paying any serious dues.

To answer your question, you are not the only one that feels that way.  With that said, while his message was not delivered in the best possible manner, there is a lot of truth in what he says.  We talked about why on the shows this past week if you are interested in checking them out.

So... any insight as to why Vince named an upcoming PPV after a Jerry Lee Lewis song?

I wish I did.  I have zero.  I think it’s a stupid name.

Every time that I would see David Otunga on tv, he gives that smug look of "I'm stealing Vince McMahon's money because of my wife." I think that he's horrible in his commentary. We all know they aren't going away from a three-man table any time soon. With that said, I have actually enjoyed Booker T this time around as he has some "credibility" unlike Otunga. Why don't they just keep Booker in this role going forward?

They need a role for Otunga.  Whether you like him or not (and I agree he isn’t very good one commentary), they also own a movie studio so keeping a Hollywood connection is important to them.  Those things happen sometimes in business.

I've been a long time supporter of Impact/TNA and even through it's very bad times, I always kept out hope that would change.  I'm glad Dixie is out and Anthem can come and create a company that has money behind it but there are some issues, I have and hopefully you can either educate me or give me your thoughts.

1) Surely Josh Matthews and Jeremy Borash shouldn't be the top feud in the company.  In any company shouldn't the main feud take place around the World Championship?  Now the whole feud in itself doesn't make sense.  First Borash joins commentary, then he and Matthews have 4-on-4 were Matthews loses and has to leave commentary, only to return the next week and then tells Borash he is suspended for attacking him and.....goes back to commentary.  Is this poor booking or just the general wrestling consensus of no continuity?

It is actually both.  It’s terrible booking and it has no continuity at all.  It’s been hard to watch.

2) So GFW and TNA are one but they are having two sets of championship belts shown on TV. They are literally overrun with titles.  Should they have a "one night only" special were it's champion vs. champion to merge the titles, should they quietly retire the GFW belts or keep both sets of belts?  Seems overkill to me!

I hope John Pollock asked Ed Nordholm about this in his interview, which drops today.  Making GFW the focal point of the company, at the expense of the brand that Anthem PAID FOR, is crazy to me.  Totally crazy.

3) Who's the "on-screen" authority figure?  It started with Bruce Pritchard coming in out of nowhere booking all sorts of matches to Karen Jarrett being introduced and starting to make matches. Both are booking matches at same time.

It seems that anyone that comes out with a microphone can book matches in Impact since they have never defined the authority structure.  They really need to tighten things up at their next taping.  The booking has been really lazy and bad.
