FALSE FINISHES, SHOULD WWE BRING BACK KING OF THE RING, TNA CREATIVE AND MORE

Am I the only one who thinks the amount of false finishes after big moves has gotten a bit out of hand?  I know it adds drama and excitement of the match, but it also stretches reality way too far for my taste and takes away from the impact of the performers finishing move when executed.  Thoughts?

I love false finishes for the most part.  In a big, big match, it shouldn’t end easily.  They are also part of telling a story when done correctly.  There are times when they shouldn’t be done, of course, but when done correctly they add to the drama of the match for me.

I was watching Summerslam 2001 today and 2 things I was curious about. Why in the previous PPV's is "Rollin" by Limp Bizkit used for Undertaker, but on SS its the "dead man walking" but with "Rollin"s video playing?

My guess would be that but was a rights issue and that their rights to “Rollin” had expired and they didn’t want to pay for them again.

What are you're thoughts on old school WCW star Buddy Landel? From what I've seen on the WWE Network, he looked to be a pretty solid wrestler!

I loved Buddy.  He was a really good wrestler and a great character.  He just never seemed to be in the right spot at the right time to get the big break, but he was definitely talented.

I just read PWInsider's report of Impact from May 11. I see there is a character based on Biff from Back to the Future (classic movie but 30+ years old). Then there is a title match for the Impact Grand Championship, the youngest title they have with the least history. Then I see there is a GFW title match headlining, another title without much history. However no other of Impacts titles have anything happening. What in there is supposed to make me want to tune in?

Matt Hardy tweeted about this on Friday, right now the creative for Impact is just not very good.  They have not done a good job of pushing Impact as a brand, instead pushing a secondary group in Global Force Wrestling.  And of course, we have the insipid Josh Mathews character.  I can say I understand why you don’t want to tune in, for sure.

I used to love the King of the Ring tournaments and PPV's, it was a great way for WWE to showcase someone who was getting the push from mid-card to main event status. Then it seemed to lose steam for a number of reasons.  Wouldn't the WWE Network be a great outlet for the KOR to return to? They could tape a match before or after Raw and Smackdown and have an hour long show on Thursday nights for a couple of weeks prior to a Raw/Smackdown King of the Ring PPV featuring the semi-finals and finals. They could also use it to determine the number one contender for one of the titles at Summerslam since the KOR was usually a mid-summer event. Thoughts...

KOTR was fine back in its day but with four singles Titles for heavyweights, I think it’s best days have passed.  I don’t need to see it revived.
