TNA is no longer TNA. As of the 3/9 episode of Impact Wrestling, the name of the company is officially just "Impact Wrestling." One of the directions the company took is that under previous management, they lost what was special about the company and now they are fixing it. Without mentioning her name, they were obviously knocking Dixie Carter.
What made that hilarious is that Carter re-tweeted a photo of Jeff Jarrett and Alberto El Patron that Anthem Vice President Ed Nordholm had tweeted out in the afternoon. Carter plugged it as if the show they were taping was going to be live on Pop, apparently unaware it was being taped for next week and also unaware that she was being positioned (while not by name) as part of the management that had almost ruined the company.
GFW champion Magnum, Karen Jarrett and Chris Mordetszky/Masters were all backstage at the first night of TV.
Jade was not backstage and is indeed done with the company.
Anthem Senior Vice President Ed Nordholm made himself available for all talent prior to and during the taping.
The backstage atmosphere was said to have been positive overall, although it was obvious that GFW's crew was in charge now, which led to some privately admitting they were feeling displaced. It was pretty much described across the board as if it was a completely different company, which is likely exactly what Jeff Jarrett, etc. wants.
There were once again music changes at the taping.
Impact will be taping a Knockouts One Night Only PPV this Saturday afternoon with Leva Bates (aka Blue Pants in NXT) and Santana Garrett announced beyond the usual roster.
TNA filmed several segments with Cody Rhodes that will be spread out over several episodes as he was only available for last night's taping.
