War Memorial Auditorium
*Gran Metallik defeated Oney Lorcan with a springboard dropkick. Crowd was super hot for both, with Lorcan being slightly favored with chants throughout the match in his support. Really good opener. Metallik takes the match with a springboard front dropkick.
*Sanity defeated Heavy Machinery with Eric Young with a Wheelbarrow Neckbreaker. This felt like a classic Nashville Fairgrounds 'Rasslin Match. Heavy Machinery worked hard as the powerhouse babyfaces, but Sanity heeled their way to victory taking every cheap shot in the book.
*Ember Moon defeated Mandy Rose with her Diving Stunner. Mandy Rose is stupid hot. Easily in Lana/Maryse territory. This match worked well. Ember looked great, and Mandy is improving.
*WWE NXT Tag Team Championship: #DIY defeated AOP with Double Team Superkick/Knee Strike. Best match of the night so far. Tokka & Rhazar (Didn't I see these guys at Wrestlemania?) took #DIY to the limit. Crowd was hot for everything. Props if you got the TMNT II joke.
*The Drifter came out to play us a song. The crowd chanted "Break A Leg". Last time The Drifter was here, he did just that. He feigned playing Freebird, then went into a Johnny Cash sounding tune ripping Nashville. Patrick Clark came out to save us from that, and we have a match.
*The Drifter defeated Patrick Clark with Spinning Neckbreaker. The finish saw Drifter toss Clark from the ring, stopping the match to play us another song. Clark recovered and got the guitar, going for the ole Honky Tonk Man El Kabong to a thunderous pop. He misses, Drifter recovers and hits a Cross Rhodes style spinning neck breaker for the win.
*NXT Women's Championship: Asuka retained defeated Nikki Cross & Peyton Royce (with Billie Kay) with Asuka-Lock on Royce. The "Asuka's Gonna Kill You" chants were true. This was pretty much a demonstration of pain from Asuka. Asuka kicked Royce & Cross from one side of the ring to the other. At one point Asuka hit a beautiful Hip Toss into a Knee Strike on Cross. It was brutal. Royce taps to the Asuka Lock for the win.
*Main Event: Shinsuke Nakamura & Roderick Strong defeated Samoa Joe & Bobby Roode with a Kinshasa on Joe. Excellent Main Event. Crowd was loud for Roode's Glorious intro, but went nuts for Nakamura. Strong worked the first portion of the match before getting the hot tag to Nakamura, who just cleaned house. Joe caught Nakamura in the Coquina Clutch, but Strong made the save and cleared the ring of Roode, allowing Nakamura to hit a big knee on Joe setting up the Kinshasa for the win. Crowd went nuts.
Overall, it was a great show. Crowd was hot throughout and the NXT roster delivered big time. No return date announced.
