WHERE'S CENA, TYLER BREEZE, MEMPHIS TAPE LIBRARY AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-11-12 10:00:00

Is John Cena going to be at Survivor Series? When is he due back full-time?

Cena is not expected back from filming season two of "American Grit" until late December, so a Survivor Series appearance doesn't seem likely.

Has anyone in Titan Tower ever floated the idea of an MMA promotion to compete with UFC, or any other "XFL" like ideas that didn't see the light of day?

Would Shane McMahon pitching they buy UFC years ago count?  I am sure there were pitches for all sorts of content and projects that never came to fruition.

Following up Mike Johnson's pro wrestling magazine answer.  I used to also he excited every month with WWF magazine's growing up.  The one month I was always excited about was the January prediction ones.  It would hint on things like I remember 1997 that Stone Cold and HBK would be a tag team and Ahmed Johnson joining the Nation.  Both ended up happening later that year.  My question is why would WWF/WWE give out storyline spoilers?  Granted, it made me eager to get the magazine that month but giving out spoilers during the Monday Night Wars is crazy.

No, it was a case of the magazines just being lucky enough to speculate what could happen and then eventually they did go that way, which given that storylines were changing every week, wasn't that hard to guess.  Things were all over the place!

I just rewatched Breaking Ground where everyone, including HHH, heaped huge praise on Tyler Breeze. He was great in NXT. Why is he just an afterthought in WWE, even after the brand split, aside from Vince's shortsightedness?

Creative on the main roster didn't see him in the same light as NXT creative did.

Whatever happened to WWE buying the Memphis library?

I think the fact ownership is so fragmented as well as so much of that material's master tapes being lost to time, has greatly slowed that process.  I don't expect we will ever see a situation where every episode is on there.  It's more loikely to see a highlights series hosted by a Jerry Lawler or a Lance Russell featuring the big moments in my mind.
