Former TNA champion Bobby Lashley returned to action at tonight's Bellator 162, defeating Josh Appelt via submission in the second round. During the post-fight interview on SpikeTV, Lashley noted that he was next looking at Eddie Edwards, who the announcers noted was the new TNA World champion. Lashley also stated he was more than happy to be placed in a one-night tournament to crown the Bellator Heavyweight championship.
WWE's Jerry Lawler was sitting cageside as the fights were held in Memphis, TN.
