SHANE BUYING TNA, BANNING TABLES IN NY, KONG, PUNK AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-10-01 10:00:00

I have just read Mike's article on the New York State Athletic Commission changing the rules starting in 2017 and I can't help to think that the NYSAC may have just screwed over New York with the unofficial table ban. When I say screwed over I mean the NYSAC could potentially being doing harm to New York's economy by potentially deterring WWE from hosting major televised events within New York.  It's not that big of a deal to stop wrestlers from pulling tables out from under the ring, but WWE has over the years relied on wrestlers going through the announcers' table for big spots in big matches. Yes other spots can be used but I have always felt that one of the reason we see announce table spots with frequency is the experience WWE has with them. One would think having done so many over the years WWE would possess the knowledge to make sure the spot is done as safe as possible. I can't think of another big spot that WWE has mastered and gets a big audience reaction like they do when someone goes through the announcers' table. If the NYSAC is going to neutralize a great weapon in the WWE arsenal then I can't see WWE continuing agreements like Summerslam weekend at the Barclays. I can't imagine WWE putting on any ppv's in New York. I can even see reluctance for Raw or Smackdown emanating from New York. Sure they would get live events but would but the live events would never produce the same economic boom that a Summerslam weekend would. Thoughts?

Well, Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton certainly did table spots at Summerslam.  That in itself lends itself to questioning why the table ban is being enforced on independent shows.   It will be interesting to see whether the ban gets lifted now that a spotlight has been placed upon it.

Where is Awesome Kong?

She is acting!  She will be on the Netflix "GLOW" series.

If TNA doesn't open the doors, what happens to the fans who bought tickets to Universal Studios that day?  Do they get refunds?

All signs are the show will happen but it's important to remember the show is free.  You don't have to buy admission to the park to attend.   If you did buy a tickets and the show didn't happen, I'd suggest getting on the single rider line at Men in Black and go shoot some aliens.  That ride is awesome.

Is Shane McMahon  back as an executive for WWE and if not, could he buy TNA?

No and technically, yes, he could.

Is CM Punk going to fight again?

I believe so.  $500,000 a fight is pretty damn hard to turn down!
