9/25 CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING FROM HOLLYWOOD TV TAPING RESULTS

By Mick Greenwood on 2016-09-26 08:32:00

Sunday September 25, Championship Wrestling from Hollywood taped episodes

The event began with two dark, untelevised matches.

  • Maxwell Jacob defeated Dylan Bostic via pinfall

Both Maxwell Jacob and Dylan Bostic made their CWFH debuts to begin the event. Dylan Bostic used every dirty trick he could think of (gouging eyes, leveraging the ropes for a pin, etc) but in the end Jacob hit an impressive handspring front neckbreaker to secure the pinfall.

  • Chris Vice defeated Ryan Kidd via pinfall

Aussie standout Chris Vice continued his American Residency at CWFH with another impressive, largely one-sided beat-down of Ryan Kidd which ended when Kidd attempted to come off the top with a flying cross-body and Vice rolled through, carried his opponent onto his feet and hit the Vice Driver.

Episode #282

Astro Viajero and Austin Harmon battled to No Contest due to outside interference

  • Fans thought they were being treated to a cruiserweight matchup between “Guy Cool” and one of CWFH’s newest luchadors – Astro Viajero. For a few minutes, they got just that. Harmon and Viajero put on an evenly-matched athletic display but, before a winner could be determined, “Bad Dude” Tito stormed the ring and demolished both competitors.

Tito called out the Marquez family for his controversial loss in the Hollywood Heritage Championship match at Milestone. Tito demanded they come to the ring, but instead was greeted by “Pretty” Peter Avalon who agreed that the ending was controversial and offered to accept a rematch himself. Tito shook his hand, got nose-to-nose with the champion and left.
  • Dan Joseph defeated Julius Coleman via pinfall

Joined by the entirety of PAC-3 (Dicky Mayer, Troy McGuire and Coach Flexo), Dan Joseph took on Julius Coleman. Julius gave Dan a  run for his money but PAC-3’s interference proved to be too much and Dan picked up the victory.

  • Ryan Taylor defeated Espiritu

At Milestone, Taylor attempted to unmask Espiritu during their 8-man tag team match. Taylor seemed to be trying to be a bit more zen, practicing yoga poses and breathing and even attempting to apologize via handshake before their match began. Taylor struggled to keep his anger under control, but was able to summon enough to pick up the pinfall victory after a strong kick to Espiritu's head.

  • “Bad Dude” Tito defeated Big Duke via pinfall

Still seething from his controversial defeat at Milestone, Tito set about taking out his frustrations on Big Duke. He wasn’t the only one with that in mind, DJ Hyde made his way out to distract and spit in the face of Duke giving Tito the opening he needed to hit the Fade To Black and pick up the victory.

  • UNITED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Classic Connection won via countout; however, The Friendship Express retained
The bitter rivals met again, but the challengers seemed more interested in causing the champions pain and embarrassment than taking their belts. Early on Classic began targeting Jervis’ mask. The match appeared to be in the hands of the champs when Jervis went to the top rope to hit his new “Flying Bunny Stomp”, but missed and came up lame with a leg injury. Classic immediately targeted that injury and isolated Cottonbelly in their corner. Then the unthinkable happened – Levi Shapiro unmasked Jervis. Cottonbelly dove under the ring, leaving Hobo alone to be beaten down outside the ring.

Episode #283

  • “Pretty” Peter Avalon defeated DJ Hyde via disqualification after Hyde struck the ref

A United Wrestling Network dream match pitted Hollywood Heritage Champion, “Pretty” Peter Avalon against CZW Standout DJ Hyde. An exciting match was cut short when DJ Hyde set about sending a message. He grabbed a chair and shoved the ref aside, intent on striking Avalon. But, Big Duke hit the ring to assault Hyde and seconds later, Tito hit the ring to assault Avalon. Duke and Avalon worked together and cleared the ring.

Dicky Mayer defeated Jorel Nelson via pinfall

PAC-3 recruiting season was in full force as the entire squad followed Mayer to the ring for his match against Jorel Nelson. Nelson looked strong early on and even attempted to neutralize PAC-3 by diving on top of them. But, as he climbed to the top rope, Flex hit him with a challenge flag, allowing Mayer to back body drop him off the top rope. Mayer then hit a giant flying headbutt that saw him fly across the entirety of the ring to pick up the pinfall victory.

  • Kevin Martenson defeated Ryan Kidd

Kevin Martenson returned, dressed in a lab coat, with test tubes on his fingers and carrying an owl skeleton. Martenson was successful in his debut.

Devin Sparks defeated Shigehiro Irie via pinfall

  • The “Wrestling Teddy Bear” made his debut to challenge Sparks’ claims of Japanese stardom. It looked like it was going to be short work, Irie destroyed Sparks with move after move but every time Irie went for the pin, Ichi and Ni were there to put Sparks’ legs on the ropes. The match ended when Sparks whipped Irie toward the referee. Irie as able to catch himself, but he was nose to nose with the ref when Sparks hit a clandestine low blow that the ref just couldn’t see. Irie went down and Sparks’ legs went up on the ropes for a doubly dirty victory.
  • UNITED TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: Bateman defeated Joey Ryan via pinfall to retain

Accompanied by a much-maligned Jarek 1:20, Bateman defended his championship against former champion Joey Ryan. Ryan frustrated the champion for much of the match, but when it was over, victory belonged to the champion via Death from Above.
