EDDIE GILBERT, ERIC YOUNG, TAMMY SYTCH AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-09-24 10:00:00

I saw Tammy Sytch was arrested again.  Is this finally it for her?

It really depends on how the Judge feels about her violating her probation.  If this was a drugs or alcohol issue, she was warned that there would be zeo tolerance to any violations of the probation.  One would think this could be the final factor that causes her to be incarcaerated for a long time, but you never know how merciful a Judge may be.  It's obvious she needs assistance, but if three months of rehab didn't help her, what is the alternative?  It's a sad situation all around.

Is Nikki Bella back full-time?

For all intents and purposes, yes.

I've been watching ECW 1993 on the network and it reminded me how good Eddie Gilbert was. Why didn't he make it in WCW or WWE?  And what caused his departure from ECW?

Gilbert was AWESOME.  He actually worked for WWF in the 1970s in a role as something of a protege to Bob Backlund and worked for the NWA/WCW in the late 80s.  He was someone who was far too passionate about wrestling and a bit of a maverik and would walk away when he didn't get his way.  he also had a lot of personal issues as he was older and that certainly hurt him.  Gilbert and Tod Gordon had a falling out of Gordon wanting to potentially work with Jim Crockett's WWN because Gilbert felt that he was going to get screwed and quit after a huge blow up.  He came back for one last appearance and never returned.

One thing that has always bothered me as a fan if 32 years is wrestlers being held back. Why didnt bookers put aside their ego and convenience in what a star is and isn't and go as far as they can go with them? Dusty Rhodes ruined the UWF merger because he felt threatened by their stars. WCW held back Steve Austin and many others. And TNA misused many if their stars who are now in WWE. Don't they realize that holding back good hard working talent hurts their buyin the long run?

Wrestling is subjective and it's often easty to see the forest from the trees on hindsight.  When you are in the moment, as a booker, you may not see the same qualities in a performer that others do.  Sometimes, like any other job, you may not click with someone you work with.    There are always a myriad of reasons as to why things happen.

I thought Eric Young was signed to WWE?  He never appeared, destroying your credibility young Mike Johnson!

Young is signed to WWE and will make his official NXT storyline debut over the next several weeks.  So, credibility restored!
