RAW RETURNS TO BROOKLYN, HOLY FOLEY IS ON THE AIR, LOTS OF LEGENDS TALKING TO JBL, CWC AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-08-22 09:58:00

WWE will return to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY tonight with the first Raw following last night's Summerslam PPV.  No matches have been announced but it will be very interesting to see what comes of the WWE Universal championship and Finn Balor after he suffered an injury to his right arm or shoulder last night.  WWE will also tape Superstars.

Tomorrow, the Smackdown brand will broadcast in Uncasville, CT at the Mohegan Sun Casino.

WWE posted a video showcasing some of the incredible community outreach the company was involved in over the course of the last week in NYC as part of Summerslam week.  I had the chance to cover a number of these events over the last five days and came off genuinely impressed and moved by how much the WWE talents gave of themselves at these events and how hard WWE's staff, which very rarely gets shouted out publicly, moved heaven and earth to provide something positive for those who could really use it.  You can check out the video at this link.

The "Holy Foley" reality series is now available via VOD on the WWE Network.  Foley was interviewed by Business Insider to promote the series and Summerslam and talked about Vince McMahon and his dealings with him at this link.   On Vince McMahon, Foley commented, "He is an intimidating presence. He's a larger-than-life superhero in some sense. But it's really important for everyone to have some type of relationship with him.  He wants you to knock on his door and ask for some of his time. He wants to set up appointments. He wants to know how you feel about things.  I tell people the most important move they can make is not in the ring. It's taking the time to get to know Mr. McMahon."

WWE's Legends with JBL has taped episodes with Bruno Sammartino, Stan Hansen, Jimmy Hart and more.

WWE announced the forthcoming debut of a new animated series "WWE Storytime" which will be animated versions of stories wrestlers tell about past experiences.  Colt Cabana did the exact same concept lifting stories from some of his "Art of Wrestling" podcasts a few years ago.

The company also confirmed they will have 19 total PPVs, not including live NXT Takeovers, over the course of the next year with the addition of all the new shows as part of presenting Raw and Smackdown exclusive events.

Former WWE NXT star Bull "Dempsey" James was backstage at Takeover over the weekend.

Set for Wednesday's WWE NXT is a look at Takeover: Brooklyn, The Authors of Pain vs. TM-61 and Tye Dillinger vs. Wesley Blake.

This week's Cruiserweight Classic episode will feature:

*Lince Dorado vs. Rich Swann
*Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Drew Gulak
*Johnny Gargano vs. TJ Perkins

Former WWE star Davey Boy Smith Jr. tweeted the following:
