RESULTS

Team Tremendous (Bill Carr & Dan Barry) vs. Trevor Lee & Andrew Everett

This was a really fun opener! As usual, Lee and Everett came out dancing to the catchy sounds of Miss Taylor Swift. Trevor Lee is really adored by this AAW crowd month after month. The duo declared themselves “TNA Superstars” and it tied into the finish. Lots of great action during this match, including Bill Carr catching a diving Trevor Lee with a Bossman Slam and a brutal reverse frankensteiner by Andrew Everett to Dan Berry. Finish came when Lee and Everett hit the Twist of Fate/Swanton combination for the win.

Winners at 6:11: Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett

Ricochet vs. Dezmond Xavier

It was great seeing Ricochet back in AAW. This was by far the biggest match for young Dezmond Xavier. I was very intrigued when this match was announced. A lot of people like to compare Xavier to Ricochet. However, at first glance, Ricochet is a bit bigger than Xavier. This first few minutes of the match started with a matrix like flurry of reversals and flipping mat work. These guys were tremendous and received a standing ovation from the crowd within the first five minutes. Ricochet took over and put Xavier in a submission that needs to be seen to believe. Ricochet was posing and getting cocky. He went for the “Peoples Backflip” but Xavier got his knees up. Xavier hit a running frankensteiner immediately into a corkscrew splash for a near fall. Then Ricochet hit a powerbomb for another near fall. These guys are trading hard hitting elbows and chops. This back and forth was intense. You’d see one reverse frankensteiner, and then the other would hit a flipping DDT. This match needs to be seen by the masses. Finish saw Ricochet get Xavier with the Benadryller after an amazing ending sequence between the two.

After the match Ricochet got on the mic and told the crowd how excited he was for this match. This really put over how great he thinks Dezmond Xavier is. And that he believes that Xavier will be making a big splash not only in AAW, but all over the world.

Winner at 17:21: Ricochet

Heidi Lovelace, Davey Vega & Mat Fitchett vs. Killer Kult (Jessicka Havok, Dave Crist & Jake Crist with JT Davidson)

The clear story of this match is that we are going to be seeing the Besties have to defend their tag straps against OI4K next month. There was lots of action in this one. Davey Vega tagged in and then immediately tagged out when he was to face off with Jessicka Havok. Havok and Heidi really went after each other. There was so much going on that it was hard to keep up. At one point Havok hit a double chokeslam on the tag champs. Then Heidi came in from nowhere and hit superkicks on everyone. It must also be mentioned that Jake Crist has looked great since returning. Dave Crist hit a huge cutter from the top on Fitchett. Finish came when OI4K hit the tombstone/stomp combo.

Winners at 13:17: Killer Kult

Chris Hero vs. Shingehiro Irie

These two bulls started off hard hitting and just didn’t stop. Immediately they started trading blows and eventually ended up on the outside destroying each other. Chris Hero was really testing Irie in this one. Each shot was harder than the last and Irie wouldn’t back down. Irie knocked Hero off top rope into the turnbuckle, practically splitting him in two. Irie kept trying to superplex, but Hero kept forearming him away. He finally hit a giant superplex which resulted in both men down. Irie got up first and hit a flipping fireman slam and an immediate corner cannonball. This match is nuts. He misses a splash and both are down again. They get up and trade suplexes and piledrivers. Yes, you read that right. Finish came when Hero hits Irie with the Death Blow.

Winner at 12:02: Chris Hero

Outlaw Inc (Eddie Kingston & Homicide vs. The Hooligans (Mason & Devin Cutter with Bucky Collins)

This match was short, but intense. Earlier in the night, Homicide said he’s here in AAW to have the back of Eddie Kingston. This starts off a giant brawl and the Hooligans hit their corkscrew plancha onto Kingston. They moved to the outside and Homicide hit a cannonball dive to the Hooligans. Back in the ring, Kingston hit a super Belly to Belly and Homicide hooks on a Boston Crab. Buck Nasty interferes on behalf of the Hooligans and takes a beating for his troubles. Finish came when Eddie hoisted up Cutter and Homicide came off the top rope, with a clothesline to the back of his head.

Winner at 7:10: Outlaw Inc.

Buck Nasty vs. Kimber Lee

Buck Nasty cut a promo saying he’s sick and tired of the Hooligans never getting the W. So he challenged anyone in the back to accept. Kimber Lee accepted the challenge and the referee reluctantly made the match official. She beat him inside the ring and threw him outside and did more of the same. Hit a flipping plancha. Buck Nasty cuts her off with a chin breaker and attempts a suplex. She reverses into a brain buster and then hits a bridging suplex for two. Finish came when he ran at her and she caught him with a pop up powerbomb.

Winner at 7:37: Kimber Lee

Winner Gets into The Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament: Josh Alexander vs. Moose vs. Kongo Kong vs. Matt Cross

I will start by saying I really enjoyed this match. A lot was going on with the four guys, so it was hard to keep track! Alexander and Cross both tried to body block Kong. And they both bounced off. Moose had better luck. They battled their way up the ramp. Walking Weapon and M-Dogg were fighting in the ring when Moose flies down and ramp and dives onto them both. Unbelievable! Kong goes for a splash, but misses. Alexander actually got Kong up for a massive belly to back suplex and then nailed Moose with a flipping firemans carry. Walking Weapon is so great. Kong going for another splash. Alexander cuts him off. Moose assists him for a superplex. Matt Cross power bombs them both on the way down. Everyone is trying to steal the pin! Alexander hits Moose with a sit out pop up powerbomb! Cross hits Kong with a shooting star. Cross going for sliced bread on Alexander and Josh reverses it into a spinning tombstone for the win!

Winner at 9:48 and Official Entrant into the Jim Lynam Memorial Tournament: “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander

AAW Heritage Championship Match: AR Fox vs. Jack Evans

This match was also hard to keep track of. Blink and you’ll miss it! Back and forth with no one gaining an advantage for the first few minutes. Jack Evans earlier in the night cut a promo/rap on AR Fox and how much he hated “Shitcago” and the fans. The story here was Fox was always one step ahead of Evans. I won’t do any of the moves in here justice. Buy the DVD. You wont regret it. So many epic chances taken by both of these men. The finish saw a bunch of reversals and roll up attempts. Evans goes for a sunset flip and Fox holds his legs for the duke.

Evans jumps him after the bell and hits him with the title.

Winner at 9:04 and still AAW Heritage Champion: AR Fox

John Morrison vs. Sami Callihan

There is a reason why this was the main event. These dudes left it all out there. Sami was out with his Killer Krew boys and his Manager. John Morrison gave his glasses to a fan on the stage. Sami proceeds to take those glasses from the fan and break them. What a bully. Morrison goes for a baseball slide and misses and Sami quickly takes over. They are battling into the crowd. It’s hard to see everything from my vantage point, but the crowd was eating it up. Morrison goes for a piledriver on the floor and Sami reverses it into a powerbomb thru his own merch table! This is nuts. He drags him back into the ring. By this point Referee PJ tossed OI4K from ringside. Callahan is working him over with a headlock and then a nerve hold. Taunting the AAW fans the entire time. Morrison comes back with a flying chuck to the face of Sami. Only gets two. Sami reverses a running Morrison into a death valley driver. Another two count. Trading forearms and kicks. Double kick to the face and both are down. Sami up first. JP had thrown in a couple of chairs. They both have one. Sami stuffs his into the corner. Morrison rolls him up and Sami kicks out and Morrison collides with the chair! Sami has him in the crossface, but Morrison makes it the ropes. Sami runs right into a standing Spanish fly and Morrison nails him with the Starship Pain! But only gets two. You people have to see this match. Incredible. JP interferes and Morrison attacks his already injured arm and gets rid of him. Sami hits him with a low blow and then the stuffed tombstone for only two! Morrison kicks Sami and puts a chair on top of him. Grabs a chair of his own and flips off the top rope on top of Sami. Just brutal! He gets the pin. GREAT MATCH. Morrison gets on the mic and thanks the crowd for supporting him and how much he likes the guys of AAW. He would love to come back and take any other wrestler to slam town.
