As noted in our EVOLVE coverage yesterday, former WWE and ECW announcer Joey Styles debuted for the company and provided commentary for the Timothy Thatcher vs. Drew Gulak EVOLVE championship bout. Styles reached out to EVOLVE's Gabe Sapolsky about coming in and will be appearing in a recurring role for the promotion going forward.
While Styles announced his first match in eight years yesterday (and was genuinely nervous about how his performance would be), EVOLVE sort of teased that he may play more of a Commissioner type role as he set up a match for the 9/10 return to Queens, NY at the end after turning down a chance to join Drew Galloway's crew. I don't believe his role is 100% set in stone but he will be popping up in EVOLVE again, but not as a regular announcer as Lenny Leonard already does an excellent job for the company.
