WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CLASSIC REPORT: THE NEXT FOUR ADVANCE TO THE SECOND ROUND

Corey Graves welcomes us to this week's show and he mentions that four men will join the eight who have advanced already.

Zack Sabre Junior faces Tyson Dux.  Harv Sihra faces Drew Gulak.  Tony Nese challenges Anthony Bennett.  Raul Mendoza challenges Brian Kendrick.

We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan.

We get comments from Tyson Dux.  He injured his ACL in 2004 and he knew something was wrong. It was a long road coming back.  This is his opportunity.  He will never quit.

Zack Sabre Junior says wrestling was a passion.  He would watch Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho.  He says he has some tricks up his sleeve.  He says his style is more mat based.  He says if you put hard work in, you will achieve your goals.

Match Number One:  Zack Sabre Junior versus Tyson Dux in a First Round Tournament Match

They lock up a few times.  Sabre with a wrist lock and he takes Dux to the mat and he works on the leg and ankle.  Sabre with an ankle lock but Dux with a reversal and Sabre reaches for the ropes.  Dux works on the ankle and Sabre with an escape and side head lock and take down.  Dux with a head scissors.  Sabre escapes and Sabre works on the arm and goes for a wrist lock.  Sabre into a cravate but Dux with a wrist lock.  Sabre returns to the cravate.  

Dux goes for a punch but misses and Sabre returns to the cravate.  Dux with a fireman's carry.  Dux with a cravate on Sabre.  Sabre bridges and reverses into a wrist lock.  Dux with a forearm but Sabre with another wrist lock and he has Dux in a hammer lock with his legs and he twists the arm.  Sabre with the Breaks Special but Dux with a slam and kick to the back and a chop.  Dux with an Irish whip and chop.  Sabre wtih a back elbow and a corkscrew European uppercut off the turnbuckles.  Sabre with a running European uppercut and then he kicks the arm.  Sabre with kicks to the injured arm.  Sabre has a kick blocked and Sabre slaps Dux but Dux holds on and hits a fisherman's buster for a near fall.

Sabre escapes a suplex attempt and he applies a Fujiwara arm bar.  Dux reverses and Sabre with a rollup for a near fall.  Dux with a sliding clothesline for a near fall.  Dux with forearms to Sabre and it staggers Zack.  Sabre with an octopus and he manipulates the fingers and pulls back on the fingers.  Dux is able to get to the ropes.  Sabre wtih a kick and a leg sweep.  Sabre with a running kick for a near fall.  Dux with a reverse atomic drop and DDT for a near fall.

Sabre counters a cloverleaf and gets a rollup and bridge for a near fall.  Dux with a clothesline.  Dux goes for a Death Valley Driver but Sabre counters into a Kimura and body scissors into the Breaks Special and he applies an Oomaplata and he pulls the other hand to keep Dux from grabbing the ropes.  Dux gives up.

Winner:  Zack Sabre Junior (Advances to face the winner of Harv Sihra versus Drew Gulak)

Daniel says that he thought for a moment that Zack was stealing some of his stuff, but he realized he never did a lot of what Zack did and he says if he came back, he would steal Zack's stuff.

Corey Graves is in the control center and he mentions that Sabre will see who he faces in the next round in the next match.

We take a look at Drew Gulak.  Drew says it is an advantage to be a skilled technician.  It will take drive, focus, and determination.  It has been a slow grind for him.  It is surreal to be in the WWE and Cruiserweight Classic.

Harv Sihra says it is a pleasure to be in the Cruiserweight Classic.  He used Eddie Guerrero as inspiration to use his heritage but not to make it a stereotype.  He knows he is an underdog, but don't count him out.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Two:  Harv Sihra versus Drew Gulak in a First Round Tournament Match

They lock up and Gulak with a waist lock.  Gulak with an inside cradle for a near fall.  They go to a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock but Sihra gets Gulak to the mat and gets a near fall.  Gulak gets back to his feet and Sihra with a monkey flip and Gulak holds on and blocks a float over with a body scissors.  Sihra goes for the ankle and Gulak gets to the ropes.  Gulak with a side head lock take down and a shoudler tackle for a near fall. 

Gulak catches Sihra on a cross body and he gets Sihra on his shoulders but Sihra wtih a near fall.  Sihra with more near falls.  Gulak with a back elbow and a clothesline from the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Gulak with a hard Irish whip and Gulak gets a near fall.  Sihra and Gulak with strikes.  Gulak slams Sihra into the ropes.  Sihra goes to the floor and back to the apron and Sihra back drops Gulak to the floor.  Sihra with a back heel kick and a springboard cross body onto the floor and both men are down.

Sihra sends Gulak back into the ring and gets a near fall.  Sihra punches Drew but Gulak pushes him off.  Sihra with a snap swinging neck breaker for a near fall.  Gulak goes to the turnbuckles and Sihra stops Gulak and hits a superplex but Sihra cannot take advantage of the situation.  Sihra goes for a sharpshooter but Gulak escapes and applies the Dragon Sleeper  but Sihra goes for the ankle again.  Gulak reapplies the Dragon Sleeper and Sihra taps out.

Winner:  Drew Gulak (Advances to face Zack Sabre Junior in the second round)

We are back and Tony Nese says he calls himself the premier athlete because he is one of the strongest and quickest.  You will hear from 31 others that they trained hard to get here.  He says he will be the biggest name at the end of the tournament.

Anthony Bennett says he has always been an underdog.  He says this is his chance to show the world who he is. 

Match Number Three:  Anthony Bennett versus Tony Nese in a First Round Tournament Match

They lock up and Nese with a waist lock take down but Bennett with a hammer lock.  Bennett holds on to the hammer lock and then he applies a side head lock.  Nese tosses Bennett away and Bennett plays with his hair.  Nese with a matrix and kicks followed by a leg sweep for a near fall.  Nese with a forearm but Bennett fires back and he sends Bennett to the apron.  Bennett with a forearm.  Nese with a round kick and leg sweep.  Nese with a cartwheel on the apron to avoid Bennett and Nese with a super kick.

Nese tries for a power bomb but Bennett gets to the apron and Bennett with a cannonball.  Bennett sends Nese back into the ring and he gets a near fall.  Bennett goes for a butterfly suplex but Nese drops down to block it.  Nese hot shots Bennett and trips Bennett.  Nese with a double jump moonsault for a near fall.  Nese chops Bennett and then sends him into the turnbuckles.  Nese goes for a delayed vertical suplex but Bennett with knees and Nese holds on to the suplex and he gets a near fall.  Nese with a body scissors.  Bennett gets out of the hold and Bennett with an arm drag and forearm.

Bennett with another forearm and then he hits a flying clothesline or two.  Bennett with a drop kick as Nese tries for a pop up move.  Bennett goes to the turnbuckles and tries for a tornado DDT and he turns it into a guillotine.  Nese puts Bennett back on the turnbuckles and then Bennett hits a tornado DDT for a near fall.  Nese wtih a forearm but Bennett fires back.  They go back and forth until Nese gets the advantage.  Nese with a leg sweep into a waist lock.  Bennett with a standing switch and Nese wtih a pump handle into a power slam.  Nese goes up top and the referee checks on Bennett.  Bennett is determined to be able to continue and Nese with a 450 splash for the three count.

Winner:  Tony Nese (Advances to face the winner of Raul Mendoza versus Brian Kendrick in the second round)

We go to commercial.

We are back with Corey Graves and he mentions that we are about to see this week's main event.

Raul Mendoza says he is here to represent Mexico.  He talks about Eddie Guerrero and he says if Eddie can be champion, if he puts in the hard work, he can fulfill his dreams.  He says he has made it.

Brian Kendrick says he is here because of his experience.  He says he was fortunate to live his dreams and be a part of the WWE.  He let it slip through his fingers.  This second chance gives him a new lease on life.  He says without wrestling, he is just living.

Match Number Four:  Brian Kendrick versus Raul Mendoza in a First Round Tournament Match

Kendrick with a wrist lock and he takes Mendoza to the mat.  Kendrick with a snap mare but Mendoza with a snap mare of his own into a reverse chin lock.  Kendrick with a knee and side head lock.  Kendrick with a shoudler tackle and Mendoza kips up.  Kendrick with a kick.  Mendoza flips over Kendrick and hits a head scissors to send Kendrick to the floor.  Mendoza teases a dive to the floor but he bounces off the ropes and back into the center of the ring.

Kendrick wants the referee to keep Mendoza back as he returns to the ring.  Kendrick blocks a punch but Mendoza with a chop.  Mendoza holds on to the ropes on a drop kick and then Mendoza with a giant swing while he has Kendrick in a modified Cloverleaf and he turns it into a submission but Kendrick gets to the ropes.  Kendrick uses the referee's distraction to kick Mendoza in the head.  Kendrick with a double sledge to the back and he puts Mendoza's mouth on the ropes and Kendrick kicks the ropes.  Kendrick gets a near fall.  Kendrick with a double over hook but Mendoza gets to the ropes.

Kendrick kicks Mendoza and then Mendoza with a rollup for a near fall.  Kendrick with an elbow to the mouth.  The referee checks on Mendoza to see if he can continue and the match continues.

Kendrick with a clothesline into the corner.  Mendoza with a chop.  Mendoza goes to the apron when Kendrick tries to send Mendoza into the turnbuckles.  Mendoza with a drop kick and a corkscrew plancha onto Kendrick.  Mendoza sends Kendrick into the ring and Mendoza misses a springboard move when Kendrick moves.  Mendoza gets a near fall.  Mendoza sends Kendrick into the turnbuckles and he runs into a boot and Kendrick with a kick to Mendoza.

Kendrick goes up top but Mendoza kicks Kendrick and he is in the tree of woe.  Mendoza with a kick and then Mendoza goes up top to go Coast to Coast and he connects.  Mendoza with a double knee back breaker out of a suplex and Kendrick gets his foot on the ropes to stop the referee's count.  Mendoza with a European uppercut and kicks.  Kendrick sends Mendoza throat first into teh ropes and Kendrick with the Bully Choke and Mendoza taps out.

Winner:  Brian Kendrick (Advances to face Tony Nese in the second round)

We go to Corey Graves for the announcement of next week's matches.  Rich Swann faces Jason Lee.  Noam Dar faces Gurv Sihra.  Jack Gallagher faces Fabian AIchner.  Johnny Gargano faces Tommaso Ciampa.
