EVOLVE NEWS AND NOTES: INJURIES, WEEKEND SHOWS UP FOR VOD ORDERS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-07-19 21:44:00

EVOLVE 64 and EVOLVE 65 are available to watch anytime at WWNLive.com On Demand.  The shows can be ordered by logging into or signing up for a WWNLive.com account.

EVOLE had several injuries over the weekend.  The most serious was Tracy Williams, who hit the back of his head and split it open hitting a dive to the outside on Sunday in Melrose, MA.  Gabe Sapolsky came out to ringside and told Williams not to return to the ring and made the call to keep him out of the rest of the bout.  Williams was sent for a concussion test after the bout but tested negative for one.  He did end up with three stitches in the back of his head.

TJ Perkins came into the weekend with a sore knee and was held off on Saturday.  He did work on Sunday.  Had he not be good to go, the company would have gone in another direction with EVOLVE champion Timothy Thatcher.  His knee was fine after the bout with Thatcher.

Ethan Page's elbow was swelled up after the weekend but is OK.

Chuck Taylor is back, now billed as Dustin, with the story being that the fans killed Chuck Taylor by supporting EVOLVE after he left.

The company will return to Long Island at the NYWC Sportatorium on 9/10 and La Boom in Queens, NY on 9/11.  The company is now considering La Boom to be their NYC equivalent of what Reseda, CA is to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.  The 9/11 bout will be headlined by Johnny Gargano vs. Cody Rhodes and TJ Perkins vs. Matt Riddle.

There will be some additional partnerships with Beyond Wrestling in the future. EVOLVE will return to Melrose, MA on 12/11.
