I heard your suggestion that WWE should make the brand only PPVs two hours. Do you think WWE would consider it?

I don’t know if they would, but I think that they should. Obviously, they would have to settle the issue with PPVs companies, but let’s be honest, PPV is in their rear view mirror anyway so that shouldn’t be a big issue. I think given the fact that they often have some “filler” on PPVs now, it makes sense to cut an hour off of the shows that are brand only as they can make the events more sizzle that way. It’s not like fans could complain since they would still be getting an extra hour of wrestling on the months with two shows. And they could let the big events stay at three hours. I think this is a case where less is more.

Thanks for all the news and articles, always love listening to you guys debate over stuff on hotlines :D I have a quick question regarding Roman Reigns. As Dave mentioned in QnA about Roman in main event, and I quote, "My take is this. First and foremost, Reigns should lose at Battleground. If he wins, the message is a horrible one. With that said, WWE did nothing wrong here, Reigns did. WWE has a business to run. They have internal plans in place to get them to one of their biggest shows of the year, SummerSlam." Isn't this still sound just wrong and sends wrong message because no matter which point of view you look at it, Roman screwed up and will still be in the main event of a PPV 2 days after his suspension ends. Where's the "Card is subject to change" condition? WWE can, they have and probably will change any match when an injury happens so why not stick to their guns and actually do the right thing by handing out the proper punishment for failing the wellness policy test?

It comes down to what you see as the “proper punishment”. Reigns will lose a month’s worth of pay, which is substantial punishment. His character on TV has been abused for weeks now, talking about his failed test. That will probably affect his merchandise sales. And, he will be cleared to wrestle before the PPV, so there is no violation of anything there. Plus, he also has the “rematch clause” so this gets put to rest in this match. As long as he loses, and helps elevate Rollins and/or Ambrose in the process, I don’t see an issue. In the case of an injury, they are forced to change the card so it’s a different scenario. Plus also consider fairness to the fans. There are a lot of Reigns fans and they paid money to see him wrestle at SummerSlam. You have to consider them as well. I think WWE did do the right thing. They punished him with a suspension and made it public. Once the suspension ends, he paid the price. He doesn’t need to keep paying it.

What's your opinion about the direction TNA is going with the recent Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy vignettes. The contract signing was over the top but I've never seen anything like their Final Deletion match before (if you can call it a match). Is this a creative angle coming directly from the Brothers Hardy or is it TNA trying something new in the vein of Lucha Underground?

The Hardys have had a lot to do with it, of course. At this point, TNA knows they need to be open to new ideas and they are. I give them credit for that.

We just got a whole episode of RAW centered around a food fight leading to a very pointless 16 man tag match.  Apart from Lillian Garcia's amazing rendition of the national anthem, was this not the definition of a throwaway episode?

It was a holiday episode and WWE knew that the audience would be down. They have done shows for years like this one on holidays and they will continue to do so in the future.

I agree with you that NXT should be kept primarily as its own entity and not interact with the main roster on a regular basis. however, do you think WWE could use NXT talent occasionally on RAW or SD? or a weekly segment "this week on NXT" on one or both of the live shows to show the casual WWE fan what they are missing by not having the network? to me it seems like not doing so is a missed marketing opportunity. or am i missing something?

The only way I use NXT talent is if it’s with other NXT talent and Triple H books it, not Vince. That could be dicey. I would like to see a “This Week In NXT” segment though. I think it would be a great way to expose the product and hype the WWE Network.
