JIM ROSS LENDING HAND TO PUT HEADLOCK ON HUNGER, MVP OFF HOH IN AUSTRALIA, LEGENDS AT PIRATES GAME, CODY VS. LIGER AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-06-21 17:34:00

MVP has been pulled from this Friday's House of Hardcore debut in Australia.  I'm not sure exactly what the issue is as of this writing, but it was announced he will not be appearing and they are working on a substitute.  The event is almost sold out with only standing room remaining and is expected to draw 1,100.  It will be the promotion's first Australian event.

Cody Rhodes will get to cross another name off his list as he'll face Jushin Liger for the first time for Northeast Wrestling on 8/28 in Bethany, CT.  For ticket information, visit www.NortheastWrestling.com.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will be having a Wrestling Legends night tomorrow with Kevin Nash, Kurt Angle, Tito Santana, The Nasty Boys and Booker T appearing.  For complete details, visit pirates.com/legends.

The Josh Gross book on the infamous Muhammad Ali vs. Antonio Inoki fight was officially released today and can be ordered at this link.  I'll have an audio review of the book this Saturday (the 30th anniversary of the fight) for Elite subscribers.

AIW in Cleveland announced the reunion of Derrick Bateman and Maxine from NXT aka TNA's EC3 and Karina from Lucha Underground as they will be appearing together on the promotion's 7/22 return to Cleveland against Johnny Gargano & Candice Larae.

Speaking of Larae, she suffered a broken nose over the weekend while working for RONIN in Florida.  Our best to her on a speedy recovery.

The following press release was issued today:
