CREATION OF THE POWERBOMB, BADD COMPANY, WWE SPLIT AND MORE

What in the blue blazes happened to TNA and POP TV.  All we are getting is commercials being recycled over and over again.  Did TNA forget to pay their bills or is WWE burying them.

Neither.  It was technical issues on Pop's end.  TNA had nothing to do with it.

About halfway through "The Resurrection of Jake the Snake" and had to pause to ask. Any recent word on how Jake and Scott are doing? Hopefully they are doing well. I know Jake has a Unspoken Word tour. Also highly recommend people go out of their way to see the movie. It is wonderful so far.

They are still doing well and hanging in there and thus far, have been able to maintain their sobriety.  I hope they are able to maintain it and go on to live long, long, happy lives.

Hello, love the site. I just read this morning where someone asked about the draft happening a few days before Battleground and if the draft would go into effect after the PPV. I believe last time WWE initiated the draft back in the early 2000’s they did the same thing with the draft being the week before a major event which allowed them to switch titles around to different shows at the event. I believe both the US and IC title ended up on Smackdown in the draft but then at the PPV, RVD lost the belt to someone who was on RAW (or vice versa). Maybe this is what WWE is planning this time. In any case, am I remembering any of that history correctly? Could that be WWE’s plan again?

You are somewhat correct.  Raven defeated Maven, who was the Hardcore champion, after Maven was drafted to Smackdown, resulting in that championship becoming exclusive to the Raw brand.  As far as what WWE has planned, nothing has been set in stone yet and likely won't be until the week of 7/19.

This may be an odd question, or even one that "everyone knows the answer to", but I've been looking around recently and not really coming up with a definitive answer.  Do we know who either invented the powerbomb, or was the first to use it on a national scale?  I remember first seeing it used in the late 1980's by the Dan Spivey/Sid Vicious team, and then Vader, and now of course plenty of people use it.  However, on the WWE Network, I've been watching old programming and the earliest use I see of it is from--of all people--Judy Martin, the former WWF Women's tag-team champion.  I've seen her use it twice as a finisher, and she really nailed it both times.  The announcers didn't even have a name for it.

Believe it or not, the move has been used since the 1950s.  Lou Thesz would occasionally use it.  It wasn't popularized until Sid Vicious began using it nationally in the late 1980s in NWA/WCW.  I've seen Thesz credited with the creation of the move, but I don't know if that is actually the case.

Whatever happened to Pat Tanaka and Paul Diamond?

They are obviously retired.  Tanaka lives in Florida and has done some referring for the Micro Championship Wrestling events.  Diamond, I believe, lives in the Pacific Northwest.  They are reuniting this November for a convention appearance in New York City.
