RESPECT FOR THE MIZ, GIVING WRESTLERS MORE TIME OFF, SPLITTING THE CREWS AND MORE

It would seem that if WWE were wanting to draw people to the WWE Network and away from traditional PPV, they would treat the kickoff show match more respectfully.  Am I the only one seeing this, and why doesn't WWE do more to treat these matches importantly?

They never treated it any different when they were expecting people to spend 50 dollars for a PPV. I don’t expect them to do anything differently when the Network only costs 10 dollars.

In the WWE there is no off season, and at times they have used this as a point of pride. Whereas other promotions typically tape weeks or months of matches over a weekend and then the schedule is much lighter compared to WWE. Since WWE is not going to take the approach of taping tons of material ahead of time, and with the slew of injuries just before Wrestlemania, wouldn't WWE and the wrestlers themselves benefit from doing the brand split again and maybe give the wrestlers an extra day or two off a week? Even if a performer wrestles one less match a week, that adds up to a lot less bumps and chances for injuries over the long run.

WWE kind of does that now. Some talents on the Friday shows get to go home after Raw on Monday. The other group comes to work on Saturday and stays on through Smackdown. In a percent world WWE would give people more time off but they just can’t afford to at this time. Their roster isn’t big enough to do so.

I know the wrestlers in WWE are all independent contractors, but are the announcers, agents and referees also? What jobs are actually employees?

Announcers and Producers (agents) are employees of the company. Referees with outside of the ring responsibilities are as well.

Curious doe an opinion here. As I type this (5/20) just before Extreme Rules, it seems the Intercontinental Championship match is primed to be the spotlight match. We've got the arguable MVP of the company in Owens, a main eventee waiting for his opportunity in Cesaro, and Zayn, who's ready to show what he can do. But what does it take to get The Miz some respect? Seems to me he's a Vickie Guerrero type heel who just gets under people's skin, and (to me anyway) has been putting in some serious work and looks damn good between the ropes. Is it just me, or is the possible the most improved wrestler in the past couple of years?

I wouldn’t say most improved as Miz is doing now what he has always done when he is given an opportunity. He’s been very consistent in what he does for years now.

Do you think the WarGames concept will be brought back?

Ever? I can’t say. But I do know Kevin Dunn has always been against the idea since it’s hard to present on TV, and WWE is a TV production company.
