What are your thoughts on Heath Slater? I always enjoyed him and felt he was entertaining, particularly around 2011(?) when he was getting beaten by the legends on Raw every week. He made those segments entertaining and I felt he should have had a run with the US or IC title soon after (which I know doesn’t quite make sense but they could’ve built him up slowly to that point instead of straight after getting whooped by veterans). Your thoughts?
I like Slater and he has showed me enough to see him as a mid-card act. But given how he has been booked, it would be hard to see him in a Title picture at this point. It would take some major character rehabilitation to make him seem like a Title contender at this point.
Quick question for you. Is it just me, or does people booing Roman actually play right into Vince's hands? As long as you are getting a reaction, you are doing your job. Look at Cena, at least half the crowd and sometimes more boo the hell out of him, yet the company pushes him to the moon. If people had just gone silent, or taken a bathroom break during his matches instead, wouldn't that have negated his push? If so, wouldn't the people being quiet for Roman be the best way to kill his momentum?
I have said the same exact thing. If people really want to send a message, don’t go to the shows. If you do go, don’t react at all when Reigns comes out (which personally I don’t advocate because I think he is giving the fans all he has). But when they go and boo, Vince counts the money and laughs.
HHH has not been seen in quite a while, although Stephanie is on every week. Why do you think that is?
If HHH is on TV, he would logically have to address losing the Title, wanting a rematch, etc. They don’t want to go in that direction. Plus, with the change to having Shane McMahon involved at the top, there is no place for HHH right now, so it makes perfect sense to keep him off of TV.
I would like to know your thoughts about something that has been bothering me for a while. The way it looked to me is that TNA started losing traction when Hogan came in, I might be wrong but stay with me, please. If you look at it that way then Hogan comes in and the first thing he does is he gets rid on the TNA ring for a four sided ring. Then he decides to go, full on, up against Vince live on Monday night. From that point on TNA starts going down hill and I mean fast. My thinking is that Vince paid Hogan (which would have to be “under the table”) to go there to get rid of what, in my eyes, would be a threat. Not a threat then, but if they would have just kept going the way they were, eventually they might have been able to not go up against Vince (cause that’s just stupid for any wrestling company) but get close to WWE’s level of popularity. I just want to know what you think about this, thank you for listening. (by the way I’m a lifelong fan of the wrestling industry as a whole since 1983. No matter where it comes from).
I agree that bringing in Hogan and company was a financial disaster for TNA and it definitely helped start the company’s slide. But I don’t see any way Vince McMahon would care enough to do that, especially given the history of decisions that Dixie Carter had made for the brand up until that point. Legalities aside, Vince had no reason to even consider doing that as he could just count on Dixie to do the damage herself.
What do you think the chances are of NXT running a show at Madison Square Garden? With the recent success of the Takeover shows in Brooklyn, London, and Dallas, I’m sure Triple H and company can easily sell out The Garden and make an amazing show from start to end, in my opinion.
I would love to see it. They sold out the Barclays Center last year, so we know it can be done. I think it would be a really cool touch to have the NXT talent work in the Mecca. If it makes sense financially, I would love to see it happen.
