FIRST DETAILS ON NEW WWE NETWORK SERIES, JR ON ADAM ROSE, AJ STYLES UPDATE, RYBACK'S FUTURE, SANDOW VS. CABANA AND MORE

By Steven Fernandes on 2016-05-12 13:03:00

The WWE Network is developing a new series titled "Behind the Curtain" that would take a documentary-style look at different stories from pro wrestling history.  Some of the topics that have been discussed for the series are the plane crash Ric Flair was in, Bruiser Brody's murder in Puerto Rico in 1987, and Gorgeous George's career.

AJ Styles didn't wrestle on Smackdown as he has some nagging injuries and the company wants him healthy and rested for the 5/22 Extreme Rules PPV against Roman Reigns.

Internally, the belief is that Ryback will not be back and that he is done once his contract expires in late July.   According to a source, there has been no communication between the two sides since Ryback went home.

Jim Ross has an excellent take on the Adam Rose situation that should be read at www.JrsBarBQ.com.  In the blog entry, Ross notes the importance of pro wrestlers having a Plan B and wondered how much of the situation might be from stress of not knowing what will happen with Rose and his family given the WWE suspension situation, whether he could remain in the States (he's from South Africa) without that job, etc.  It's a good read and brings to light a lot that hasn't been mentioned in the Rose discussion over the last 24 hours.

WWE intends to move forward with the "WWE Kids" project after shooting a pilot episode a few months ago.

WWE have announced that they have added more than 100 episodes of Smackdown from the 2000 - 2002 McMahon-Helmsley era to the WWE Network.   Thanks to Steven Fernandes.

Lilian Garcia wrote on Twitter that she's been off WWE TV due to a family emergency and that she hopes to return next week.

Hornswoggle is the guest on Steve Austin's latest podcast.

Damien Sandow vs. Colt Cabana has been announced for the 6/11 WrestlePro event in Keyport, NJ.  That sounds like a lot of fun.  For details, visit www.WrestleProOnline.com.

Set for next week's WWE NXT:
*Bayley vs. Nia Jax.
*Blake & Murphy vs. Austin Aries & mystery partner.
*Carmella vs. Peyton Royce.
*Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa vs. Rob Ryzin and Danny Burch

The next WWE NXT TV tapings at Full Sail University (all sold out) are 5/19, 6/8, 6/9 and 6/24.
