FLAIR AT EXTREME RULES, BEST ARENA, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE IN WWE & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-05-12 10:00:00

I have another question regarding last week's WWE releases: do wrestlers with family connections such as Stardust, Goldust, Natalya and Roman Reigns have better job security other others with the exceptions of John Cena and Michael Cole?

No.  The family name might get someone in the door, but it doesn't guarantee they will remain with WWE.  For example, Manu didn't last long and he's part of perhaps the largest wrestling family there is.  It's about what WWE wants and whether the performers can give it to them, nothing more.  Will nepotism help someone get a look and get a job?  Just like everywhere else in life, certainly possible, but at the end of the day, it's not going to prevent someone from being let go if WWE feels someone else can better fit that roster slot.

Do you see both Velvet Sky and Angelina Love eventually signing on with WWE? If they do will they do so under their famous moniker The Beautiful People? Does TNA own the rights to the title The Beautiful People or do the ladies themselves?

TNA could claim ownership of the Beautiful People name.  I could see Velvet being of interest to WWE.   She moved a LOT of merchandise for TNA and that's certainly something WWE would want to utilize.  Not sure if Love, who just had her first child, is looking to be on the road to the extreme levels WWE talents are, plus she was there in developmental previously and it didn't work out, so not sure if the two sides would want to work together again.  It's certainly possible, but I don't see it as probable right now.

I recently came across a website that specializes in sports memorialbilia. Among the items listed were several photos of current WWE women wrestling stars such as womens champion Charlotte, Natalya, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. In each photo they are featured holding a different womens title belt then the one curretly held by Charlotte. Its the one previously held by past women champions such as Molly Holly, Chyna among others. When it was decided to change the name of the title from Divas to womens champion were they going to use the old title belt?

No, they wanted a new belt to reflect the new era.  There was no discussion of bringing back the old belt design.

I recently read an article on your site that said that people were asking if Flair was taken out of the match at Extreme Rules because of what happend at an airport recently. You reported that he tripped over some luggage and cut his leg in the accident but that he wasn't intoxicated. Why would he have been taken out of the match? was the injury that severe?

No, it was not. The storyline stipulation for Extreme Rules has nothing to do with the Logan Airport incident.  If Flair was in trouble for it or they wanted to send him home, they'd have just sent him home.  He didn't cut his leg- he hit his head.

What's the best Arena to see pro wrestling in live from an atmosphere standpoint?

The Allstate Arena in Chicago.
