DOES WWE TELL BETTER STORIES THAN UFC, HOW RATINGS WORK, TNA'S SLIDE AND MORE

Why doesn’t Vince or HHH come out with a new show on TV or the Network that is just the Tag Teams, with maybe a TV title or Light/Cruiser? I think that it would be the second best WWE Show, only behind NXT.

They are doing a Cruiserweight tournament.  As for Tag Teams, they don’t see doing that as a big draw, plus they have five hours of first run weekly TV to produce for USA.  They need their tag teams to fill time on those shows.

In your article yesterday regarding a John Cena interview pertaining to the rise of the UFC he states, “It doesn’t resonate with me because I’m a storyteller. I enjoy the story we can tell in the ring. I think we do it better than anyone.” First, don’t you think that the UFC tells a great story that one fighter wants to show he is better than the other and wants to take his championship belt? Second, do you think the “story telling” they did leading up to Wrestlemania was better than how the UFC approaches their PPV’s?  I miss the days were they created “rivalries” as opposed to creating “storylines”. Long live Jim Cornette!

Cena was toeing the company line.  That is a WWE-ism if I ever heard one.  He may believe it as well, but as someone who comes from the sports world, he knows that the events in a contest that unfold organically can tell an excellent story as well.  Just ask Ronda Rousey or Conor McGregor about how dramatic UFC fights can be.  I agree that a good feud will beat a storyline most of the time, but that isn’t what WWE does anymore.

Would it be a bad thing to have Kevin Owens and Byron Saxton feud and have a match with each other if fans were to go behind Heel Owens over Face Saxton?

Probably, yeah.  Saxton is an announcer.  If Owens didn’t destroy him, it would make Owens look really bad.  If he does destroy him, what’s the point?

Overall this year TNA has had great IMPACT shows with good story telling and the addition of Decay I feel TNA is on the right path. How do you feel TNA’s shows have been thus far? Do you feel the fans getting behind TNA once again?

I agree that on the whole, Impact has been really good this year.  Sadly, growth has not been the result of that, which is a shame.  Years of bad decisions by upper management have hurt TNA.  A lot.

Hi guys, Last week’s Monday Night Raw was the best episode in a long time in my opinion (and lots of others from around the web) but reports have come in that the rating was down?  You would think that after the good reviews,  casual fans would have gone out of their way to watch it but the ratings went down!!!  Does this not prove Vince McMahon right that when he gives the internet fans what they want (Cesaro, NXT call ups, no John Cena, no Authority and AJ Styles winning the main event) the rating goes down?

OK, there are a lot of things in play here.

1) The rating that gets posted accounts for viewers that watch that show live or shortly thereafter via a DVR.  So if they watched it the next day, they wouldn’t be counted.

2) That was the Raw after the WrestleMania Raw, which was higher than the recent shows due to following the biggest show of the year.  So it was expected to drop.

3) Ratings patterns evolve over time, so no that doesn’t prove anything.
