WCW'S MMA DIVISION, BRAY WYATT, CZW ON PPV AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-03-19 10:00:00

I was really looking forward to the CZW traditional pay per veiws. Is there any new word on if they will still happen?  Thanks.

I haven't heard anything new on the horizon for this, so my guess is that if they are going to happen, it won't be anytime soon.

So with Sting being forced to retire because of his neck injury, it pretty much puts a nail in the coffin for any future match between him & The Undertaker.  That is the match they should have had at WrestleMania 31.  What is your opinion on WWE missing the boat on dream matches (Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair @ WrestleMania 8, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Rock @ WrestleMania X8, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Bill Goldberg @ WrestleMania XIX/XX, & Sting vs. The Undertaker @ WrestleMania 31)?  I was watching something on the WWE Network & they mentioned how they hurried up to have Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair (it was like 1-2 months after Hogan's WCW debut).

Hogan vs. Flair did happen in WWF but only on house shows.  I think what happens is that  "dream matches" that wrestling fans see as important might not be seen as big of a draw internally within WWE.

I watched the 2nd episode of WCW Thunder and there was a Match between Miller and Nagata. Mike Tenay said, that WCW will start a MMA division under wrestling rules. I really don't remember anything about this or that I've ever read about this division. Is there a story behind this division or was there never a real concept behind this?

I am sure there were was talk but at the time, there were all sorts of claims and statements tossed out there that never happened, either because of changing plans or because they were just claims that had no bearing in reality to begin with.

I read last week on the smackdown spoilers that the Ascension attacked AJ Styles following Jericho burning the Y2AJ  shirt. But by the time smackdown aired the angle was obviously cut. Why was is cut and what were the original plans for the Ascensions involvement in the angle?

We never reported that and for good reason - it never happened.

Any truth to the rumors that Bray Wyatt is out with a back injury?

We heard those rumors but never reported them as we could not substantiate those claims.  Wyatt worked last night's WWE house show in Syracuse in a tag match, so he is still in action.
