ROH ON COMET REPORT: TAG TEAM GAUNTLET

We are in Nashville, Tennessee and your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Mr. Wrestling 3.

We are told by the announcers that tonight’s show would feature a seven team Tag Team Gauntlet and the team that is left standing at the end of the night will have earned a Tag Title Match. 

Match Number One:  Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly versus Caprice Coleman and Will Ferrara in a Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Kyle and Ferrara start things off.  Kyle with a waist lock and Will with a standing switch.  Kyle with another standing switch and take down but Will escapes.  Will and Kyle push each other and Kyle with a key lock.  Kyle with a knee to the midsection but Will with a forearm.  Kyle with a forearm.  Kyle with an Irish whip but Will with a boot and he goes to the turnbuckles for a head scissors.  Kyle holds on to the ropes on a drop kick attempt.

Kyle with kicks but he misses a double stomp.  Kyle with strikes followed by a knee and kick.  Kyle sends Will into the turnbuckles and Bobby tags in.  Bobby with a knee in the corner.  Fish with a snap mare and then he hits a double jump slingshot senton for a near fall.  Fish with a kick to the midsection and Kyle tags in.  Kyle and Bobby with knees in the corner followed by a double suplex and Kyle gets a near fall.

Kyle with a knee drop to Will and he gets a near fall.  Kyle sends Will into the turnbuckles and he tags Bobby back in.  Bobby with a punch to the midsection and he follows with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall.  Fish with a knee to the midsection and he tags in Kyle.  Kyle with a boot to Caprice on the apron.  Kyle runs into a boot and Will avoids Fish and makes the tag to Coleman.

Coleman with a clothesline to Fish followed by a series of punches to Kyle.  Coleman blocks a kick from Fish and Coleman wit a back heel kick and a spinning leg lariat.  Coleman with an STO to Kyle and then Coleman with a slingshot pescado onto Fish despite Kyle being the legal man in the match.  Kyle with forearms and then he tries to send Coleman into the ring post but Coleman uses the ring post to swing around and he connects with a baseball slide to Kyle.

Ferrara with a suicide dive onto Fish.  Ferrara sends Fish into the ring and Ferrara tags in.  Coleman with an Irish whip but Fish with a boot to Coleman and then he sends Ferrara over the top rope to the floor with a back drop.   Fish runs Coleman into the corner and Kyle with a running forearm.  Fish with a running knee and Kyle with a running kick into the corner.  Fish with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker and Kyle goes to the turnbuckles for a knee to the upper chest.

Fish with a jawbreaker to Ferrara and then he tries for a cross arm breaker but Ferrara blocks it.  Kyle with a knee bar on Ferrara while Kyle stops Coleman from breaking things up and Ferrara taps out.

Winners:  Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish

Before our next part of the Gauntlet, Truth Martini has something to say.  He says have no fear, Truth Martini and Joey Daddiego are here.  He says he is honest.  Ever since that quitter Donovan Dijak has left the H.O.T., he has robbed his dreams and Joey’s dreams of having tag team gold.  A tournament without the H.O.T., he does not thinks so.  The have the heir apparent, Chris LaRusso and he gets the chance of a lifetime.  Chris is a marital arts expert, a lawyer, and when you live the lifestyle of Truth Martini, it helps to have a lawyer some time.


Truth reminds Chris of the situation.   You do good, you get a thumbs up.  You do poorly and you get a thumbs down and you go down. 

We go to commercial.

Match Number Two:  Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly versus Joey Daddiego and Chris LaRusso in a Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Fish and LaRusso start things off and Chris with an arm drag.  They lock up and Fish with an arm drag into an arm bar.  Fish with a wrist lock and he blocks a hip toss.  Chris with a series of kicks but Fish with a punch to the midsection followed by a kick to the leg.  Fish with a back heel kick and he floats over into a cross arm breaker but Chris counters.  Fish with a heel hook but Chris gets to the ropes.

Fish with a kick that sends Chris into the corner.  Kyle tags in and he connects with a round kick.  Fish tags in and he kicks Chris in the chest to send him back to the mat.  Kyle tags in and he connects with a kick.  Fish tags back in and it is his turn to send Chris to the mat.  Kyle tags back in and Chris with a forearm.  Kyle with a forearm.  They go back and forth until Kyle takes control with a flurry of forearms.  Kyle with a double leg take down and punches. 


Kyle with a cross arm breaker and Joey breaks things up.  The referee deals with Fish and that allows Joey to tag in and he connects with knees and forearms.  Joey gets Kyle up and he tags in Chris.  Joey with a standing power slam and Chris with a leg drop for a near fall.  Joey tags back in and he punches Kyle.  Joey with an elbow to Fish on the apron.  Kyle with a boot to Joey’s head a few times.  Kyle misses a boot and Joey with a uranage.  Kyle with a triangle arm bar but Joey with a power bomb to stop Kyle.

Fish tags in and he hits a sliding D.  Fish with a running knee into the corner followed by a second one and a flying back elbow.  Fish gets Joey on his shoulders but Joey escapes.  Fish goes for the knee bar and Chris breaks up the hold.  Chris tags in and he accidentally hits Joey with a jumping leg lariat when Bobby moves out of the way.  Fish with a back heel kick.

Chris with a back heel kick but Fish with a jumping knee to Chris and both men are down.  Joey refuses the tag and he leaves with Truth while Truth gives the thumbs down.  Kyle tags in and he kicks and slaps Chris and follows with a leg sweep.  Kyle with forearms and punches.  Chris with an Irish whip but Kyle with a knee and Guillotine to force Chris to tap out.

Winners:  Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly

The Young Bucks make their way to the ring and Matt decides to give Chris a super kick before he gives the super kick to the cameraman.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Three:  Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly versus Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson in a Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Before the match officially starts, The Bucks push Kyle and Bobby.  Bobby and Kyle push back.  Nick and Matt go with the crotch chop.  Kyle and Bobby with forearms and things have started.

Matt and Nick have super kicks blocked and Kyle and Bobby with ankle locks. Nick and Matt escape and they kick Bobby and Kyle.  Matt with an alley oop of Nick into a double drop kick to send Bobby and Kyle to the floor.  Matt and Nick with stereo suicide dives onto Bobby and Kyle.  Kyle is sent back into the ring and Nick tags in Matt.

Matt has a super kick blocked and then Kyle gives Matt’s leg to his brother.  Kyle with a dragon screw leg whip on Nick and that takes both men down.  Bobby tags in and he runs Matt into the corner and he does the same to Nick.  Fish misses a splash into the corner and Nick with a knee to Fish.  Kyle with a DDT to Nick.  Kyle blocks a super kick and connects with a knee.  Kyle goes for a suplex but Matt counters with a stunner.

Matt with a cannonball to Bobby while Nick hits an enzuigiri to the back of the head from the floor.  Matt puts Fish in the ropes but Kyle with a sleeper on Matt.  Nick comes off the turnbuckles with a swanton but he lands on Bobby’s knees.  Kyle tries to get Matt up for Chasing the Dragon but Matt escapes.  Fish with a clothesline to Matt and Nick sends Kyle over the top rope.  Nick with a shoulder to Fish followed by a slingshot X Factor.  Nick goes to the apron for a moonsault onto Kyle but Kyle moves and Kyle connects with kicks and knees to Nick.  Nick has a super kick blocked and Kyle applies an ankle lock.


Matt with a baseball slide to Kyle to get him to release the hold.  Matt is sent into the turnbuckles by an Exploder from Fish.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Kyle with a hammer lock on Matt and he connects with knees to the ribs.  Matt is sent into the turnbuckles and Fish tags in.  Fish with an elbow to the arm followed by a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall.  Kyle tags back in and he connects with knees.  Fish with knees as well and they alternate.  Kyle sends Mat into the turnbuckles.  Kyle with an Irish whip and he runs into boots from Matt. 

Matt with a double jump cutter and both men are down.  Bobby and Nick tag in and Nick with clotheslines and a springboard drop kick to Kyle to knock him off the apron.  Nick with a kick and Fish holds on to the ropes to avoid a super kick.  Fish goes to the floor.  Nick goes to the apron and he misses a running kick on the apron.  Fish misses a leg sweep.  Nick hits a running kick to Bobby.

Nick sends Fish into the ring and he goes up top for a swanton but Fish moves and Nick rolls through.  Fish with a Samoan drop and both men are down.  Matt and Kyle tag in and Kyle with a rolling butterfly suplex combination.  Kyle and Bobby set up for a double team move but Nick with a round kick to Kyle.  Matt with an assisted Shiranui to Fish.  Nick calls for a super kick and Kyle blocks it and sends Nick’s foot into Matt’s head.  Kyle with a back heel kick to Nick followed by a heel kick to the back of the head.  Nick with an elbow to Kyle and Kyle bounces off the ropes and runs into a double super kick.

Matt and Nick hit More Bang for Your Buck for the three count.
Winners:  Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson

We go to commercial.

Match Number Four:  Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson versus Bob Evans and Tim Hughes in a Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Bob and Tim have a strategy session before they enter the ring.  They enter at the same time and they run into super kicks.  They decide to go back to the floor.

Bob wants to talk to Tim away from the camera while Nick and Matt wait for them to enter the ring.  They talk more strategy and they go to the apron but then they pull Matt and Nick to the floor.  Matt and Nick with super kicks.  Hughes is sent into the ring and Nick misses a splash.  Hughes gets Nick up for a side slam. 

Hughes does the same to Matt but before he can hit the side slam, Nick with a super kick.  Evans comes into the ring and he kicks Nick in the shin and he does the same to Matt.  Matt asks what the hell was that.  Bob sets for Sweet Shin Music but he runs into a double super kick.  Matt with a buckle bomb to Hughes while Nick hits an enzuigiri from the apron.  Nick with a swanton onto Hughes while Matt holds him across the middle rope and Nick gets the three count.

Winners:  Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson

Match Number Five:  Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson versus Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels in a Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Daniels and Kazarian attack Matt and Nick from behind and Daniels works over Nick while Kazarian work over Matt.  Daniels with a clothesline to Nick and Kazarian kicks Matt.  Daniels with a punch to Nick.  Daniels with a reverse atomic drop to Nick and Kazarian sends Nick face first into Daniels’ knee. 

Daniels with an STO to Nick.  Kazarian and Daniels work over Matt.  Kazarian with a kick followed by a Northern Lariat from Daniels and a boot to the back.  Daniels and Kazarian send Matt to the floor.  Kazarian and Daniels mock the Young Bucks by doing their pose.  Nick hits Kazarian from behind.  Nick with punches and then he tells them to suck it.  Daniels and Kazarian with a double kick and a double choke slam.

Kazarian with a slingshot pescado but Kazarian misses Matt.  Matt with a super kick.  Daniels tries for Angel’s Wings on Nick but Matt with a super kick and Nick with a jackknife cover for the three count.

Winners:  Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson

After the match, Kazarian attacks Nick and Daniels works over Matt.  Daniels and Kazarian hit Celebrity Rehab on Matt.

The final team makes their way to the ring.

Rocky Romero and Trent Baretta go after Daniels and Kazarian even though they will be facing the Young Bucks.  Romero goes after Kazarian while Trent works over Daniels.  Trent with chops and forearms to Daniels.  Daniels sends Trent into the turnbuckles.  Kazarian and Romero battle and Kazarian runs Romero into the turnbuckles.  Trent sends Daniels to the floor and then he does the same to Kazarian.

Daniels and Kazarian are escorted to the back as we go to commercial.

Match Number Six:  Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson versus Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero in a Tag Team Gauntlet Match

Nick comes into the ring and pushes Romero into Trent and Nick gets a rollup on Romero for a near fall.  Trent goes for a belly-to-back suplex on Nick but Nick lands on his feet.  Trent with a kick and he goes for a tornado DDT but Nick pushes Trent away.  Nick with a spinning heel kick off Trent’s back to Romero.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Romero with running clotheslines in the corner to Nick but Nick goes to the floor and pulls Trent off the apron.  Nick with a kick to Romero and he goes to the apron but Trent gets Nick on his shoulders and Romero with a running knee to Nick.  Nick is sent back into the ring and Trent puts Nick on the top rope and Romero with a springboard drop kick.  Trent with a flying knee for a near fall. 

Romero makes the tag to Trent and Trent runs his boot across Nick’s face.  Trent with a forearm to knock Matt off the apron.  Nick with kicks and punches to Trent and Rocky.  Trent and Romero with a double jumping knee and Romero gets a near fall.  Romero with a seated abdominal stretch. Romero with knees to Nick followed by a forearm to the back.  Trent tags in and they Irish whip Nick into the corner.  Trent is back dropped over the top rope to the floor.

Romero goes to the apron and he runs into a super kick on the apron.  Matt tags in and he hits a baseball slide to both men.  Matt goes up top and hits a moonsault onto Romero and Baretta.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Matt sends Romero back into the ring.  Matt with punches to Romero and he adds comments between the punches.  Romero with an uppercut and then he goes for a Shiranui but Matt counters and sets up for an Indie Taker or Meltzer Driver but Trent pulls Nick off the apron.   Nick with a spinning heel kick.  Romero with a victory roll but Matt rolls through and gets a near fall.

Matt with a buckle bomb while Nick hits an enzuigiri in the corner.  Nick goes up top but Romero gets to his feet.  They set for the Indie Taker but Romero counters with a rana to send Matt into Nick.  Romero with a mule kick after missing an enzuigiri.  Romero with a palm thrust to Nick on the turnbuckles.  Romero tries for a Frankensteiner but Nick blocks it.  Matt with a cannonball into Romero while Nick holds Romero.

The Bucks set for More Bang for your Buck but Trent makes the blind tag.  As Nick goes for the 450 splash, he hits Romero’s knees.  Trent with a German superplex but Matt lands on his feet.  Matt misses a super kick and Romero and Trent hit Strong Zero for the three count.

Winners:  Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero
