3/4 NXT RESULTS FROM CITRUS SPRINGS, FL

By Andrew Twiss on 2016-03-05 00:59:00

Here are full results from NXT Live in Citrus Springs, FL on March 4, 2016.

Your host and ring announcer for the evening is Alex Reyes

- Hype Bros def. Sawyer Fulton and Alexander Wolfe - Fun opener. The Hype Bros are always good to get a crowd going. Sawyer Fulton is now wearing dreadlocks to the ring and is still in search of that right look that finally clicks for him.

- Aliyah def. Sara Lee - Not a great match. It was just ok. Knowing the experience level of both competitors, especially Sara Lee, it was about what you would expect. It was a mostly basic affair, although I think Sara Lee did alright for herself. It's very early in her career. Aliyah was working as a heel in the match and actually looked more comfortable in that role.

- Steve Cutler def. Josh Woods - Nothing special. This match was actually kind of rough in spots, like the two just couldn't quite get the timing down. They tried to do a more technical match, playing off Woods' amateur wrestling and MMA background, but it just never quite clicked.

- Rich Swann, Patrick Clark, and Kenneth Crawford def. Angelo Dawkins and The Ealy Twins  (Gabriel and Uriel Ealy) - Surprisingly decent match considering there are a lot of newer workers in this match. Clark actually did quote well for himself and already feels like he fits in. Crawford is still learning, but he has some potential. The Ealy Twins have some decent size going for them and I'm curious to see more. The match moved pretty briskly, although too many guys on each side were using the same armdrags takedown/armbar combo and slowed the match up a lot. Swann did hit a nice 450 splash to lead his team to victory.

- Manny Andrade def. Elias Samson - This was a really fun match. Andrade looks like a star and moves like a star. The Drifter is getting massive heat, just a notch below Eva Marie level. His actual in ring work is decent and improves when he's in with more dynamic performers

- Carmella def. Daria "The Jersey Devil" Berenato - Carmella got a very nice reaction. She actually got a half ways decent match out of Daria. The Jersey Devil looks good when she works her MMA style takedowns and strikes into her moveset. It's getting the rest of her timing and work to meld into that that will take some time.

- Alex Reyes brought Levis Valenzuela out for an interview segment. Levis talked about all of the exciting new stars of NXT, like Shinsuke Nakamura or Austin Aries and how it's changing the game. He's excited for new opportunities. He then talks about wanting to make an impact and that he's going to turn down the fiesta a bit and turn up the fight. It was a good promo from a guy who has a lot of charisma. Keep an eye out for him in the future.

- Tucker Knight def. Alex Riley - This was a surprisingly good match and probably the longest singles match of Knight's career. Alex Riley as the bitter veteran is actually a good gimmick for him. He works it well. Knight is just starting to get the hang of working like a big man and I thought Riley put on a very strong performance.

- Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady def. Blake and Murphy - I loved this match. Enzo and Cass are so over with the crowd and Blake and Murphy are so good at being comic foils for Enzo and Cass. From Murphy's high pitched screams when locked in a headlock, to Blake bouncing around like crazy, those two always up the entertainment level of a match.

Considering a huge chunk of the roster is in Ohio, this was a surprisingly fun show. I enjoyed it.

Notes:

- Meet and Greet before the show was: Tucker Knight, Sara Lee, and Bronson Mathews

- Gabriel and Uriel Ealy are twin brothers signed by WWE late in 2015. They trained at MIAW in Milwaukee. Since their signing, they have both been working as additional security at live events. I believe tonight was their in ring debut for WWE.

- NXT returns to Citrus Springs on April 14.
