WWE RAW presented the second leg of this weekend's house show tour in at the
"Coliseo de Puerto Rico" in San Juan, PR. Here are the quick results from the
show.
1. R-Truth defeated Leo Kruger (5 mins) - Quick, fun match to
start the show. "Little Jimmy" made a brief apperance at the beginning of the
bout, but Kruger "beat" him up right away and that led to R-Truth going to town
on him. Kruger looked really solid in the match. Good timing, played up to the
crowd and had a nice performance.
2. Ryback
defeated Alex Riley (3:30 mins) - Not much to write home about in this one.
Can't believe how far down A-Ry has gone. Ryback looked huge, but did not
impress much during the match.
3. Divas Match - Eve Torres defeated
Kelly Kelly (4 mins) - Eve came in and insulted the crowd. That brought out
Kelly to begin the match. Ok match.
4. WWE Tag Team Title Match -
Triple Threat Elimination - Primo & Epico (C) retained the straps after
defeating Zack Ryder & Mason Ryan and Ricardo Rodriguez & Alberto Del Rio -
First to be eliminated were Ryder & Ryan after Epico hit a "Back-Stabber" on
Ryan, Del Rio sent Epico out of the ring and covered Ryan for the pin (@ 6 mins
mark). After a really good back and forth, Del Rio and RR dominated Epico for a
few minutes. Epico made the hot tag to Primo, who came in and immediately got
the crowd involved. About a minute or two of offense, Primo got RR in the
figure 4 leg lock, in honor Carlos Colon Sr who was in attendance. The crowd
roar was very loud at this point. Del Rio came in and turned RR in order for him
to counter the move. Epico hit the "Back-Stabber" on Del Rio and kicked him out
of the ring. On his way back to the corner he turned back Primo to lock the
Figure 4 tight and get RR to give up quickly @ the 16 minutes mark. Really fun
match.
5. U.S. Title Match - Santino Marella defeated Jack Swagger (10
mins) - Good match with a lot of comedy on Santino's part. Santino got the win
with the "Cobra".
6. Chris Jericho defeated Kofi Kingston (13 mins) -
These two gentlemen worked hard and produced a very good, hard hitting match.
Both of them hit their moves during the bout, with Jericho hitting the "Code
Breaker" for the win.
15 minute intermission (WWC, please take note of
this point. It can be done and it will not take away from the consessions
income...)
7. Brodus Clay (w/ dancers) defeated The Miz (8 mins) - Ok
match. Miz did great on the mic insulting the fans in Spanish.
8. Last
Man Standing Match - John Cena defeated Kane (12 mins) - After a few attempts,
Cena hit the "Attitude Adjustment" on a table that Kane had set up in the ring.
Split crowd with the usual pro/anti Cena chants.
9. WWE Title Match - 2
out of 3 falls - CM Punk defeated Dolph Ziggler (19 mins) - Really good match.
Ziggler took the first fall @ the 10 minute mark. Punk got the second fall @
the 15 minute mark. During the 3rd fall there was a ref bump that brought out
Chris Jericho, who got Punk with the "Code Breaker". Ziggler went for the pin
but Punk kicked out on an awesome false finish. Ziggler and Punk went into a
sequence that looked really good, very fast paced, with Punk nailing all his
moves and finishing up with the "GTS" for the win.
Notes:
- Lower
bowl completely packed. 200 level not so much. I would say there were 7,500 to
8,500 in attendance. The building was tarped off at the 300 level. Lowest
attendance in years, although local companies would love to get that kind of
crowd for their cards.
- No new set brought in for the show. Very
dissapointed. I was looking forward to seeing the new look and got the same 'ol
set up.
- Being the last few shows before WrestleMania, I expected that they
would do one or two "dry run" matches to see what they would need to tweak
during the week. However, no WM matches worked on the show.
Biggest
Heat
- Chris Jericho
- Eve Torres
- Dolph Ziggler
Biggest Pops
- CM Punk
- John Cena (very loud mixed reaction)
- Primo & Epico
-
Santino Marella
