Here are the results:
Chris Russo and Byron Saxton were at the announce table for this show.
Your host for the evening was Abraham Washington.
Match Number One: Kevin Hackman, Jason Jordan, Dante Dash, and Marcus Owens defeated Nick Rogers, Colin Cassady, Corey Graves, and Peter Orlov (with Alexander Rusev) when Owens pinned Orlov after a TKO. While Owens was covering Orlov for the victory, it looked like Hackman was trying to break up the cover by his own partner.
Match Number Two: Leakee defeated Eli Cottonwood with a rollup.
Match Number Three: Rick Victor defeated Xavier Woods with a Tiger Driver after distracting the referee to hit Woods low to set up the Tiger Driver.
Before the next match, Damien Sandow addressed the crowd and he said that he had a New Year’s Resolution. He says that he will be more tolerant to the fans. However, he asks that the fans reciprocate and show respect to him by chanting Damien’s name, bringing signs for him, and not to call him a Diva.
Match Number Four: Richie Steamboat defeated Damien Sandow by disqualification when Sandow poked Steamboat in the eyes.
Match Number Five: Audrey Marie won a Six Divas Battle Royal by eliminating Raquel Diaz with a body scissors to send Raquel to the floor. The other participants were Sofia Cortez, Cameron Lynn, Caylee Turner, and Sariah. The order of elimination was Cameron Lynn, Sariah, Caylee Turner, Sofia Cortez, and Raquel Diaz. During the course of the match, the referee also made counts on covers by the ladies.
It was time for intermission.
Abraham Washington came back out in his host capacity and he brought out Antonio Cesaro. Antonio had a bag with him and Cesaro talked about things that are wrong with the United States. This brought out Big E Langston who confronted Cesaro. Cesaro hit Langston with his bag and he revealed that there was a turnbuckle in there and he left the ring.
Match Number Six: Seth Rollins defeated Briley Pierce with the Curb Stomp.
Match Number Seven: Dean Ambrose, Big E Langston, and Mike Dalton defeated Antonio Cesaro, James Bronson, and Calvin Raines when Dalton pinned Raines after a cross body from the top turnbuckle. During the match, Ambrose hit the knee trembler and put Bronson in the Regal Stretch, but interference broke up the submission hold.
Match Number Eight: FCW Heavyweight Champion Leo Kruger defeated Husky Harris with a rollup after sending Harris into an exposed turnbuckle that had the pad removed by Kruger earlier in the match.
Notes on the show:
WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat was in the building and came out from the back to watch a few of the matches, including his son’s match against Damien Sandow.
I thought one of the highlights of the show was the Briley Pierce/Seth Rollins match. It is matches like this that will help Pierce in the long run because he is able to wrestle against some of the top talent in a singles match. After the match, Rollins did a good thing after the match putting over Pierce’s performance after the match.
Damien Sandow is one of the better overall characters in FCW and he is doing a mix of a Rick Rude and Adrian Adonis gimmick with the robe and beard that make you think of Rude while he wears pink and purple ring gear that was reminiscent of what Adrian Adonis wore at the end of his career (minus the weight gain). His promo before the match where he said that he would appreciate the fans if they reciprocated by cheering him and making huge signs might have been the best thing on the show. When he also added that he did not want to have people call him a Diva, I figured he was wearing the pink.
Since the fans were chanting ‘Diva’ for Sandow, I was a bit disappointed that they did not chant ‘Sandow’ during the Divas Battle Royal.
Since the last time I looked at the FCW roster pages there have been three changes:
Eden Stiles has been removed from the Divas page since she has left the company as was reported on the site last month.
Leah West has also been removed from the Divas page.
On the Superstars page, they have ‘removed’ Tito Colon from the roster page, but they have changed Epico’s photo on the page to Tito’s since Tito was also Epico.
Allegedly the next television tapings will take place on Thursday January 12, 2012 at the FCW Arena. Check the FCW website for more information, if they update the live show information. To make sure that they are doing a television taping, you might want to check the contact information on the FCW website as well.
