UPDATES ON WWE VS. TNA IN ORLANDO, FIRST-EVER WWE PPV IN NEWARK, NJ AND MORE

The Smackdown/ECW show in Orlando on Sunday 12/20 is actually a taping for each show as WWE will be getting ahead of tapings for Christmas week.  They are taping Raw in Tampa, FL on Monday 12/21. So, the 12/20 taping is a scheduling issue, not some sort of predatory move towards the TNA PPV in Orlando that night.

The 2009 No Mercy PPV will be 10/4 in Newark, New Jersey, the first WWE event and the first WWE PPV ever held in the Prudential Center.  The venue, which opened last year, has hosted a UFC PPV and the first Elite XC Saturday Night Fight CBS special.

Roddy Piper is currently filming the feature film "Opponent" in Connecticut.  In the film, the WWE Hall of Famer portrays a local priest hell-bent on destroying an unruly alien being who has invaded a small town. The movie is being distributed by Vijaya Cine Enterprises, who handled international distribution of Quantum of Solace in the Middle East. It is co-starring Jeremy London of Party of Five and Mallrats fame.

Bobby Lashley was in attendance at the Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir UFC PPV over the weekend.
